Carbon Putters (Merged)

I putted with it for about 20 min as the sun went down.

Im a fan, seems to swing smoothly. The heavy head lets you know when your transition is too quick. I've never been confident on 6-8 footers with blades, just feel like Im going to push or pull them. Really fely like I could line this up and hit it where I wanted.

I think the cavity could be a bit wider, but other than that no complaints. I'm using the regular pure grip. might try anfd grab a midsize and see how it works out.

as expected the feel with Prov1s is amazing. The ss head has a nice click but soft off the face. I feel like heavy putter can be tricky on long distances, but with some practice I don't see this being an issue.

My $.02

I received my Ringo 1/4 around lunch today. And ran home to get it, naturally. I did have a bit of an issue which I’ll explain later. Snapped some pictures, hope you enjoy.

I placed my order about 8 weeks ago. They notified me of a 3 wk lead time, which was understandable. Unfortunately after that time I received the black carbon putter head when I ordered the SS version. Not a big deal. There was silence for about a week after I emailed and called about returning it. They had a death in the family, so they were understandably behind. I expressed my condolences, and said I understand any delay that may have caused. I finally about 3 weeks later get my tracking info. of course then It is lost for 3 days in transit w/USPS. Wouldn't expect anything less at this point. Anyway, I got it and here’s what I think.

First off, this thing is pro. The SS is beautiful. It has a beefy overall look to it. there isn’t much cavity. which is probably how they get the 370 gr head weight. the top line is thicker but not out of place. it sits nice and square, and the black paint really pops. I read a few comments earlier the paint fill wasn’t perfect. I’d agree there but as you can see, it is barely noticeable if they went outside the lines any. It has the clean flat bumper look I was going for but not nearly as sharp as the Scotty Newport 2, which has never looked right to me.

I’m not saying it has a mallet quality, but sometime I feel like blade putters can look a little skinny from address, this has some heft, depth and bulk that really looks like you can roll it well. Rolling it on the carpet, the head felt hefty but controllable. It will take some practice but should be heavy enough to really groove a stroke. Comparing the SS vs the carbon head I was sent by mistake, I much prefer the sound and feel of the SS. At this head weight, and especially if you are using PRoV1’s then the head might be too soft, almost a mushy feeling. but I’ll know more after some practice

The head cover is a white alligator Velcro closure, with the grey revolver chamber logo sewn in the top. My only beef is the Velcro. I would have preferred magnets or the stretchy material like in the bettinardi headcovers.
I went with a simple black pure grip with the carbon logo on the top, running long ways.

I’ll be heading to the putting green after work to roll some putts and will report accordingly.

sorry for the sideways pictures, not fixing them

I recently stumbled across what appears to be a newer high end putter brand - I found them via a Facebook ad actually. Models look pretty straight forward, high end components, made in the USA, and best of all - heavier stock head weights! Looked like all the models are stock at 370, which is a nice change of pace. Anyone head of or used these yet?

I have not used them but talked to them yesterday at the Denver golf expo. Met Dan and his mom (it's a family business) - they were great to talk with. Rolled some putts with the Ringo and Ringo 1/4. The putter set up very nicely to my eye and rolled really nicely off the face. I was very impressed.

Ended up ordering the Ringo 1/4, Carbon Steel finished in Black Obsidian, 71* lie, 3* loft, 34", my name on the bumpers. They had a show special where they milled the flag of Colorado in the sole. I went with that painted the colors of the flag. All other paint fill is white. Went with black Pure putter grip and going with the grayscale Colorado head cover.

FYI. They are the Putter Lounge and Re-grip it as well.

I would have to confirm but I think they've only been making putter a year or so. I think the 5 years in the putter industry includes the Putter Lounge.

I met Dan and his mom today at the Denver Golf Expo. Got to talk to them for a while, see, feel, and roll some of his stuff. I loved them. Just a little disappointed the Ringo 1/4 is a 4:30 toe hang, thought it would be closer to 4:00.

Absolutely loved the finish. I grabbed a model with a polished sole which looked great, but was well used. Clearly a floor model that's made its rounds. But if I hadn't looked at the sole, I would have guessed this was straight off the line. The rest of the putter looked immaculate. They use an incredibly durable finish, but still felt soft and buttery.

Topline was really thick and the cavity was very shallow. Felt so solid. I loved it. I may have one in my bag soon.

Just picked up a Holiday and I added a Super Stroke and the balance is great. I don’t feel the head is too heavy, but I’m a fan of a heavy feel, it promotes a free flowing feel for me. I’m can see where some may not like the matt black finish, but it is very durable and the putter head is clean.

Anyone know what the new models look like?

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I had a fairly poor experience with the company. I ordered a custom putter to be 365 grams with a sound slot, and sight line on very top of putter, my name on the bumpers and my dogs name on the bottom and wanted to leave off the large logo on the bottom that wraps around to the face. I paid immedietly and they said 6-8 week lead time. after 14 weeks (any multiple emails) they informed me the putter was ready to ship as soon as i paid (had to go around with them for 3 days about the fact i had already paid (fortunately paypal keeps good records). When i received my putter there was no site line, my name was not done as i had asked on the bumpers (ordered "dancing" letters) and they put the large logo on it. My biggest concern was the weight when i putted with it it felt very light so i pulled the head and weighed it. It came in at 322 Grams. I emailed them about the weight and the sight line (the name and logo were not a big deal to me) and asked what we could do. They informed me that i could send the head in and they would add a line on the top but it would take 8-12 weeks and that there was nothing they could do about the weight, i asked them if there was any way they could redo the head or possibly discount the head since it was 40 grams off, they said they would discount it $50. After that i emailed them again asking if there was any other options about possibly adding weight without lead tape and i never heard back from them, i sent them multiple emails and they never returned any of them. I started a claim with paypal attempting to get the $50 they promised me but because it was a custom order i was out of luck. So i now have a beautiful 322 gram paperweight. very disappointed

I'm surprised PayPal would not protect the buyer if there is written evidence that a customer did not receive what was ordered, as long as this is within a reasonable time of receipt of the item. Granted it is not an eBay purchase, but PayPal and eBay are separate companies now anyway.

I had a like experience; fortunately I was able to cancel my order before it was shipped. They kept telling me my putter was being built; and I had no special instructions; after 6 weeks of hearing my putter was being built; they sent an email stating it would be another 8 weeks; I know they are a boutique company that received top marks on another site; but 15 weeks for a standard putter; no thanks.

Payal has strict wording regarding "custom" orders etc. and the company obviously knows that. just very bothersome that I'm out $350 because they didn't bother to read a VERY detailed order and check weight.

I absolutely love mine. I feel for anyone who had a bad experience, I really do.

But some things to consider:

Fully customizable putter for under $500, in most cases less

2 man operation

I'm sure they never intended to blow up like they did, as fast as they did

Would you turn down business as a start up company?

I bought this putter for the same price as my off the rack generic Scotty. Maybe I waited alittle bit longer than I thought, but for the price and quality, I think it is well worth it.

Now if something came flat out wrong or not what you ordered, I get it. I would be pissed too. But from what it seems like, inconvenient as it may be, they without a doubt try and make it right.

I played mine the first weekend and loved it so much I had them make a custom piece for my wife. Should be able to post pics in the next couple weeks.

STAY AWAY! Carbon Putters will lie over and over to string you along, and in the end not deliver as promised (if at all). They told me repeated lie after lie on the lead time for my putter. After nearly four months of waiting they told me they would/could not make my putter at all. They stated their business model had changed, they no longer do custom orders, and that completing my order would hurt their business.

Just to address these points from jmurph424:

1. A fully customized putter at that price can be had, and actually delivered on time and correctly, by many other companies (Lajosi and Slighter for example) (From what Carbon Putter told me they not longer make custom putters. Apparently they only change stampings, sight lines, etc. to their standard models).

2. Many custom putter places are two or even one man operations and they deliver as promised. Being a two man operation is no excuse for lies and horrible customer service. (Carbon Putters is not a two man operation btw).

3. I would not turn down business as a start up. I would be honest and up front with my customers. I would not lie to get a customer on the hook and continue lying to keep them. Customer service is as important as the product. Carbon Putters fails at both (Carbon Putters eventually did turn down my business btw).

4. Carbon Putters absolutely will NOT try to make it right. I have read numerous examples besides mine.

Sorry to hear. As you can tell by my pics above, they in fact do, take custom orders. Actually have my second custom one in the finishing stages now...

Sorry it didn't work out for you. And you have every right to not recommend them to other board members. Worked out pretty well for me, so my opinion stays the same. Awesome product and awesome deal.
