Thanks! Doug of Oughton's Golf stripped the 33s a couple of years back.  The black oxide was also done by him back in the fall.  His prices are very reasonable.  He's been around a long time, just doesn't have all of the IG presence that the new refinishers have so he's a diamond in the rough so to speak.

I'm guessing they are counterfeit Miura MB101's. They are listed as "OEM quality forged blades". I'm really interested to try them but I've never been able to just the price. These I can totally justify and if they are terrible, I will get a refund. If they are great, then I have a new Sunday set.

Are you in the Carmichael area? I’ve had Doug do a few iron builds of mine over the years. He’s a local legend.

Nope I am in NY. I’ve dealt with Doug for a long time. He always picks up the phone or replies to E-mails no matter how busy he is.

Pulled the trigger on a set of Mizunos. I have a few sets of irons, but nothing conforming to the bs usga shovelled on classic lovers... (though it provides a thin excuse I can give to the wife if they somehow show up when she's around). 

 

I was looking for something that I could fit around my existing set up. I was looking at 33s, 68s. 4s. Liked the idea of 68s and 4s because they have a more modern grind, lofts are closer to what I play right now (47' PW). There was a set of 33s with X100 in mint condition I almost pulled the trigger on, but the slightly weaker lofts and larger shorter irons steered me in another direction. 

 

I'm probably going to take out the s200 shafts one by one and slowly move them into the bag. I've got a few sets with x100s, I've been thinking to use soft stepped one time. By next year they should all fit like a glove. 

 

I've gotten a little more organized with regard to the local prefectural golf tourney schedule this year - a few events lined up each month etc. And then off to BC for the first time in five years to see family (and golf) in the summer.

The transition to shorter irons is nice. I like everything about the look of them so far. They blade length and shape is eerily similar to what I usually play - the MR23 US Spec cb. Long irons might be a little beefier as the Mizunos have really short hosels.

Going with Faldo wedges this year. Had a practice session with them, really like them around greens.

Saw how guy on tour held his trail hand on partial wedge shot throughout, inspired me to replicate and was quite amazed at how much better and more consistent impact was. Playing 1st round week after Augusta, may hit the range tomorrow. Best week of the year, save for family vacation.

No pic, but I prefer blades specifically for the look/feel. Started really looking at my equipment as a 20=25 HC and made it all the way down as a 6 for now. Realized after I got myself wedges that I prefer the aim small miss small look of the wedges and expanded from there. Must admit that I am not the best ball striker but I can strike the ball so much more efficiently from 8 iron down with a blade and might have to do the same with 7 iron just to test if its the same.

Still my all-time favourite iron combining looks and fantastic feel...modern classic no doubt.

 

King Cobra MBs (7-PW at least) in my flow set are even more compact...don't quite have the feel but seem more 'powerful' if that makes sense.

Sorry should have made it clear, mine are from 2019 I think...not sure how they measure up to this year's model as I've not seen them in the metal, but I don't think they would be that much different.
