Total side note, how did you like the af-302?    I’m super bummed on the Vega cbs I got, I finally shafted them up and played with them about a week ago and flat out hated them.   Doesn’t matter a ton cause I love my kyeoi blades to death, but I always hate not having a nice soft (that hollow cb softness) cb.  
 

Those Fowler blades are so nice.   I hit some in a bay at a store and I just remember at the time liking them more than whatever the mizuno blades were at the time.

I liked them just fine, but really enjoy playing the Bridgestone Tour B X-CB Ai54 Limited irons bought a little later on much more. The Epons were super clean, like barely played condition. Only thing I can say about them is the head seemed a bit long for my eye.  The good part of the trade with the son? I got to keep the 5-PW GD Tour AD 85g stiff iron shafts.  😍 They're set aside for a future project.

 

The son's putting the x7s in a set of i230 irons and moving them on.  He's also cleaning up some ZX-7 irons and some On/Offs to move. He doesn't have the workshop space that I do.

Dude, thank you so much.   That “a little long” comment just saved me.   I like shorter boxy irons.

Decided to give my Mizuno 32’s another whirl. Beautiful to look at and oh so soft when flushed. 
 

Misses were as usual slightly penalized compared to my i210’s.

I know many are critical of the Maltby ratings, but these really seemed way out of whack.

in the RFs?  I have dg 105 r300 as those aesthetics are driving me insane. Similar think in the rickys would cause me to lose sleep.

Labels down. I can ignore most anything as long as they work and cost nothing.  They were pulls from my JPX923s when they got graphites. They definitely work. 😁

It becomes clear when you realize how the MPF is calculated. 

 

It is almost entirely this:  C-Dimension minus Actual VCOG. 

 

There are a couple small modifiers, and some penalties applied when the CG is above the midpoint of a golf ball.  Which definitely applies to the i210.

 

That's it.  Straightforward arithmetic

After previous post here  many years ago about getting MP 32 irons, I played cavity backs all the way through since.
I finally decided to upgrade my current Srixon ZX5s , the 7 - PW.  Keeping the 6 and 5 irons for the time being.

Just purchased some used Mizuno MP37s, I have been wanting mizuno blades for over 20 years but couldnt afford them. Got the set 2i-Pw for  $275. They are definitely dinged up but still fully playable and grooves are in more than good enough shape after some mild sharpening. I think these are the most beautiful irons ever (that I could afford).

You know i'm figuring out that lowering my hands at the top, to be more "on plane" when historically had high hands, has been a major bust for swing. several years of it too. Saw this at range, went & played, raised hands, and did much better with #5i, #4i & #5W Talking 3-4 inches making a huge difference on path control. Pete Cowen advocates a loading of shoulders at setup, keep them loaded, raise them up vertically for fade bias, don't for draw, it's such a weird way to control ball flight spin but it actually works. See youtube on it. Put the two together, woo, much better. When I'm more pissed about last 100 yards over tee game, i know things are heading right direction. Nike's staying in bag for a long time.

I’ve been playing these Hogan redlines on and off for the last couple months and I think they’re my favorite blades that I’ve ever hit. Great shapes, incredible sole that was miles ahead of its time, awesome feel, and the long irons launch the ball very well. As an X100 player, I had to get adjusted to the Apex 4 (stiff) shafts. I struggle with DG stiff shafts but the Apex has a somewhat inverted profile: softer tip but stiffer handle. I can work with that and knowing that I need to avoid overpowering the shaft has me swinging great. The E and 9i have a very rounded toe that I don’t love but the rest of the set is near perfection. There are those who think these are the best Hogan blades and as someone who played the ‘99 version, I prefer the ‘88 redlines (but it’s also a matter of taste).

Ever since you showed me that site, i'm constanly on there searching for the next thing 🤣

 

My only problem being 6"2 tall so irons will have to be reshaftet everytime, and I can't do it myself just yet..
