Blade users thread (NO DEBATING CLUBHEADS! NO Buy Sell Trade!)

PD that blade design is "wedge like". My (rather, my wife's) Hogan Vector Lites are similar. The muscle is basically thicker near the sole and not as thick as other blades as you go higher up. It will be interesting to know how those feel compared to your Macs. They are slick looking.

I'll shoot a picture from the toe and you can judge from a better angle. Definitely a different shape than most. The TE's are 1035 carbon and the MMB's are 8620 carbon. The latter is forged through a 5 step process and the latter (I believe) are form forged so I'm interested to see if I can differentiate. I read that the TE's feel softer and the MMB's 'clickier' to many. At address they look similar so visually the set will transition well.

Definitely slick and clean. I love the minimal stamping.

The only justifiable fear from a physics standpoint is fear of the harsher FEELING miss hits. All other fears are self induced phobias based on old wives' tales.

One thing that helps you get over the fear is putting more focus on the better quality GOOD strikes from them. Have you noticed that improvement yet?

I played a practice nine yesterday and hit my long irons like crap. Root cause? MY $hitty swing. No more. No less.

Def understand my swing is terrible at times lol. But yes, good shots are wonderful. Feel, trajectory, consistency and shape all better

And so now ask yourself, based on this alone, are you getting better looks at birdie or better set up for the next shot by playing blades (including the long irons)? If so, isn't this an advantage? Could it possibly outweigh the one nitpicky "issue" of harsher FEELING miss hits?

For the love of god, why r my pics always frickin crooked...i even edited them in the opposite of what they come out as...grrrrrr! Double bogey to u wrx! Double bogey to you....

Well, my clubs arrived today, and, as u can see, im all in on the mp-14s. The feel is just perfection. Really sharp edge(as the divots in my yard will attest....i was tossing pancakes all over back there)....

The look at address is as inviting and beautiful as one could hope for...i want to go play now!

My workaround to the pics issue is to load them to a computer, verify proper orientation from there, then upload to WRX from there.

If you upload to WRX from a phone, it may look OK from the phone, but often it comes out sideways or upside down.

I prefer going from a PC also, and also using Photobucket as a photo storage site. You can upload files en masse, organize them in folders, blah blah blah.

With apologies if I'm repeating myself, giving an update on the NV105 project...

I may have mentioned, the PW in my 986 Tour iron set was bored to parallel. As I started dry fitting the shafts, it turns out the 3 iron head is also bored parallel, and the 6 iron looks as it could be, but the bore may not be complete. I realize I could shim the shafts, but I'm not sure I want to do that with graphites, so I've put the 986 Tours on hold for now.

The next idea is to select one of my Ram sets for graphite entertainment. Or maybe my MS-11s, since I'm not in love with the PX 6.0 in them currently. This is a problem with having too many iron sets, LOL.

Yeah, the combo of Maruman & the muscle pad line of the Hogan Precision did me in.

Ah well.

Is a full set of these in near mint all original condition worth $199.00?

Hah!, I will let you know. I got the CS1 models not too long ago and i love them. They are quality clubs. These have a different line to muscle, one I have always wanted. I really did not need these. File it under too bored and dangerous.

Edit: I saw that set too, I almost bought them but they are too similar to the CS1's in the muscle pad.

After reading a previous thread on the condition of "average" clubs on Callaway preowned, I've decided to pull the trigger on the MP 68s.

Nice! I don't think there is any substantial difference at all between 68s and 69s. I think you'll be pleased with cally pre owned. It's a highly credited sight that tons of wrx'rs will echo praise for.

When's the expected arrival?

If the head shape is different between the TE and MMB, then that will play into the feel which *may* convolute your conclusions about the 1035 vs 8620 carbon steels.

Here's how the wife's Vector Lite 3i and 6i look in comparison to my Porn Stars:

Note how the VL muscle is similar to a wedge's.

LOL my wife and I are a soon to be blade using couple. I need to put some nice new grips on them for her but she is already excited to switch over to them.

Tall heel on the Masda; makes the BB top line look like a ski slope. ;)

BTW, N, on account of those fingerprints, it looks like you've been handling those BB a lot. :) Enjoy, my man!

I thought they were pretty similar honestly. Slight differences. I'm just a little biased towards the Masda's.

And, hold on a minute, I just unpackaged the 4i for comparison photos. It's the only one thats been handled. Plus my hands were dirty since I just got home from work. Very nice lines on the BB's. I just left them in the box and put them up on the closet shelf.

Again, thanks K. I'm sure my wife is thankful too since she signed for the package :)
