That seems to explain everything right there….1/4”’short and heavy grips.   Not sure about the 5003, but you should be able to search google.jp and find some kind of old spec sheet on a stagnant webpage that lists the head weights.   If you can you can cross check yours against that.

Ok so I pulled the shafts and the head weights are all EXACTLY 4 grams less than the posted weight in the miura website. To the head.

do you think someone ordered them this way?

as stated maybe the plating is stripped off but I have played them for two rounds in super humid northeast weather last week and zero rusting happening. Plus to all be the exact number off seems like a factory thing??

of so that’s some damn tight tolerances!

Miura does make plus and minus heads, know plus 2 & 4 is real option.  Have plus fours in one set known to be made by them.  .

Yeah, likely they are -4 or maybe they were stripped after oem build, or original build was for plus length of shafts., a sheet of paper is 4 grams. It's not much when not moving. Lead weight in tips can fix this.

Yup always use tip weights. At least I know it wasn’t anything weird since they’re all on the money the same

Fellows,

I got a set Sixon 945 (4-P) that I shafted them up with DG TI 120 X100 and thought I just have a nice extra summerset but… these are so good and so forgivning so I only play with them even compete.

They are a bit beaten up

Should I have them refinished?

if your going to throw them out send them my way.  love me Z745's

Played yesterday with the Mizuno MS-11's in the bag, with a hardstepped Modus 120 stiff.  Went full 2-pw straight to SW.  Also brought along the King Tec 2h now shafted with Modus 105 stiff, tuned down one click, making it a theoretical 16¼°.

Had an adjustment period at first, I'd been swinging shafts that were a flex stronger, with an opposite profile.  Had a couple lefts until I quit adding extra to the swing.  Trajectory increased, as I was hoping, able to hit even the 2i with no trouble.  Haven't played these clubs for a number of years, it was like returning to an old friend.

The legendary MS-11 bounce was evident, got through the turf as well as my TS-4 set.  😁

Hit the hybrid twice, the 105 shaft gave me what I'd hoped, the added weight I sought, and a similar trajectory bump as I was seeing with the irons.  On #18, I hit it farther than I expected.

Looking forward to my men's club event in a few hours.

This afternoon, I'll finish gripping the 986 Tours, may take those to the course for tomorrow's round.

Great fun 😁

MP4s have been mentioned already, but I'll add another vote for these. I've played them for over 10 years now, and recently bought a back-up set. I've played other blades in the meantime (mostly older Mizuno irons, but a few older Mac, Wilsons, and others as well), and I find the MP4s to be about the best to play for me.

While I didn't like them, the MP5s also found a lot of popularity, and the MP68s and 69s are worth a look.

Also mentioned by @NRJyzr in a different post are the much older MS-11s. I'm not sure of availability where you are, but these were sold for over 10 years in Japan, and sets are not hard to find now.

I have two sets, a regular one and a custom one with a different finish and stamping. Both great to play.780956491_MizunoProOriginalsMS-11sset.jpg.a96e7beda3f7bb360588cde30548e78c.jpg

Any topline pictures gents?

You have got me looking for a set now 😂

I'd posted this back in May, the MS-11 is one of the five clubheads pictured.  If this doesn't get it done for you, I can see about other pics  🙂

Here is what my brushed satin finish looks like if that is helpful - looks different than what you posted, but could be just be our pic quality. I don't have any weighting of heads only unfortunately.

I sent a pic to miura and asked them same questions he said he thinks they took the plating off. Either way I think they look awesome so we’ll see how they play. Wish they were raw but don’t think so

The drama continues….try g to install the shafts I notice the hosel depth of the pulls is not even an inch so now have to ream the hosels to fit the .355 tapers….research shows it’s a real thing with Miura so whoever did this shaft build was a complete amateur.

love this stuff.

On deeper thinking the fact that there’s over 1/2” of shaft NOT in the heads just adds to the low swingweights…

sorry for making this a club building sidebar but all of us buying these beautiful old blades need to know some of these situations 😉

I get it, interesting that the build was the issue. Miura's are known for being nutted and 2/3 of any club is dance of grams, so great a proper build will sets things correct.

It actually isn't that hard to hit off the tee. I bought an old ATTAS 110X carbon shaft for it, which helps generate a little extra swing speed.

Also a great club to practise with. REALLY helps you stay within yourself throughout the swing.

I find 1 irons a lot of fun.  I've generally not had a problem with them.  I'll occasionally take my Golden Ram TW276 1 iron out for a spin with my Vibration Matched Ram set, but I also recognize it's not the best "normal usage" club choice for me anymore, with the speed/distance loss I've had over the last couple years.

Took the above 1 iron with me to the heated range over the winter.  I was actually hitting it really well.  Great fun.  Decent distance, as well, relative to my new normal.

Not everyone here has the swing speed to motivate an X7. I know, I tried them when I got my copper Cobra RFs. I found them to feel like rebar! Swapped them out for some 105g S200 stiffs and play is really good.

I went s400 in the DG105's and love the combo!
