This hole might be "infamous" but the fact is, for better or for worse, the antics that take place on this one single hole really are memorable.

Don't care for it? No problema - don't watch it.

As for the 16th - I am old by golfwrx standards (40+) and I would actually like to go hang out at the 16th for day. It would be a fun different way to watch golf. That being said I am traditionalist most of the time...

As a once a year novelty its ok. But not every week, and surley not at a major.

However, I think we'll see more of it at some of the other mid level tournaments, as a means to draw interest. at gate revenue.

I like it. Thinks it adds some fun to the round. Some of the posts in here are why people think golfers are just a bunch of stuck up, stuffy people that they don't want to be around and/or play with. But I take it from some of the posts that is what you want people to think so the "lower class" won't "ruin" the game for you. I have a great idea, stay at your stuffy country club where everyone acts the way you want them to and don't watch the WM tourney.

On a somewhat related note.....can we have an entire tournament without the quiet signs? Wouldn't a constant roar of noise have less tension then complete silence with the occasional noise? It would completely eliminate the "MASHED POTATOES" guys everyone hates. How great was it when Bubba got the crowd all worked up at the Ryder Cup before he hit his tee shot?

I have no problem with what goes on at #16. As many have said, it's one hole at one tournament. However, there is a special circle of Hell for the "get in tha hole", "mashed potatoe" and "baba booey" guys on every tee at just about every other event. May the Lord have mercy on your souls.

any idea on the rating of the charities that receive said $? how many of them have personal ties to the the thunderbirds? how much of those charitable donations actually benefits the people that are in NEED?

I think every tournament should have one hole like this. Why? Because that's where all the drunk morons will be, and I can enjoy the other 17 holes without having to fight the crowds to get a view. Plus, I might just decide to be a drunk moron myself once I get tired of walking.
