SNELL GOLF BALLS??? anyone???

At least my criticism of the name was just the actual wording...not the graphics so much. I just didn't, and still don't, like the model name.

Not huge on the logo either, but that's okay. And yea, it's just a ball. But it sounds a little cheap, is all I think a lot of us were saying.

And I think we know that doesn't correlate to performance.

Just got mine...still have that NEW BALL smell!

This may have been brought up but I see the balls are made in Korea. Aren't Volviks made? Wonder if they are made at same factory.

Compared the SNELL vs 15' B330 S vs 15' PRO V1x. Played a late 9 holes solo following a group of 4 so had time to hit 3 shots all 9 holes. I worked mainly Tee balls and tested from 40/50 yards and 90/100 Yards.... the 90/100 yards I do the most spin with my wedge so I felt was good test distance.

(Course is great early condition, maybe a little soft in some spots from early watering. Greens were good. Not fully in spin condition, still a bit firm but still very receptive)

Distance (Driver):
All about the same honestly. I think the PRO V1x might just be a bit longer. I would say it was all within 4-5 yards off the tee equally hit. I will say that the B330s and Pro V1x did fly a bit higher, not much just a bit higher than the Snell. The difference in tee yards could just that swing. I would say No advantage to any ball at this point from the tee. Pro V1x did have the two longer hits...BUT I do play that ball most the time.

Distance (Irons):
Okay not sure what it is but the Snell was a bit longer with irons. It seemed to "hang" if that makes sense. I honestly though it was that "spin" hang you can get with a ball... just spins and drops out. Not the case though, just carried very well.

This could be do the different dimple pattern. Which it is. At first look I swear it looked like a HEX pattern...?? Anyway...I expected them all to preform the same given the driver aspect but the SNELL was about.5-7 yards longer on average. Feel was good as any ball I have played off the irons.

Some one said "Clicky Mashmallow" previously and I would have to agree with this. Maybe a day old marshmallow... It is NOT Chrome Soft feel for comparison. I am playing 714 AP2's so fairly soft feeling anyway with these irons. Sound.. not feel I would say it "clicked" more than the others, more like last years PRO V1x.

B330s is nice and soft feeling. Honestly might be the softer feeling? It just seemed what I "felt" and expectation was not the same. Just not used to they why it felt and would take time to get used too.

I will say the 2015' PRO V1x are soooo much closer to the old Pro V feel. The new Pro V1x and SNELL both feel close on the club face.

IE: I will note the SNELL sounded firmer from the face but did not feel firmer.

Advantage SNELL.... not sure why the distance gain but there is some with the irons... I am putting money on the dimple pattern.. can not figure it out.

FEEL(Putter / Chipping): I was using my Odyssey Protype 2 putter. (I was not putting as good today honestly with it... Should have stuck with my Cameron to be honest for testing).

B330S... actually pretty damn soft feeling and impressed me. Again noticed what I "felt" was different than expected. Putting I seemed to come up short a foot or so on what I thought was the right stroke. I will say it did not seem to make as much of click at all off the putter face. Very soft... not Chrome Soft but pretty smooth. Chip and short yardage spin was excellent. Hit and stop on 40/50 yards. Some pull back on the 90/100 yard range.

PRO V1x... Pretty much spot on to what I expected with the swings I made...I knew where it was going and if it was going to be on the mark. Again disclaimer... this is the ball I normally play and am used too. 40/50 yards one hope and stop. 90/100 yards hit and stop, maybe a small pull back. I would say the 2015 PRO V1x is a lot softer feeling than last years Pro V1x. I pulled out a last year model and it is firmer feeling to me. Closer to Pro V1 feel. Still a small click though, not much.

Snell: Feels very good on the short irons. Felt between the Pro V1x and B330s to me. It did have a click sound...firmer sound but not feel. Pro V1x and Snell were about the same on results. 40/50 yards one hope and stop. 90/100 hit and stop... maybe not as much pull back. Putting....tough one... not sure but it felt more "clicky" then the others. I knew the B330s was going to be soft and since the new Pro V1x was designed to feel softer I expected the Snell to feel softer.. Could have been me?? Actually It feels VERY close to the 2014 Pro V1x honestly. (It felt to familiar... reason I pulled out lasts years Pro V1x to see)

Advantage.
No Advantage I could tell. All were excellent but performed different. It would come down to how you like to play your short iron shots and feel off the putter.

If I was forced to choose strictly on feel...B330s...Not saying I would game it, would need practice with it as the results puzzled me, but did feel good.

Pro V1x or Snell are great too.

DURABLE:
Not much to say..PRO V1x. Not sure what it is but some reason the PRO V line holds up stupid well. Or at least for me it does. Even when I used squared grooved PINGS it did. It seems to be a ball I can play 36/45 with and not worry it would be shredded....more likely lost LOL

The B330s / SNELL had some decent chew marks by the end but I was hit them all pretty hard with wedges from 90/100 yards to see what MAX spin I could get. Not saying the balls were not playable but after I wiped the balls clean the PRO V1x still looked in excellent condition. Only one chew spot (minor one) Vs 3 -4 on the others. NOT huge chew marks but still there. (I did hit each from 90/100 yards on all 9 holes...figure it might be close to a normal round..?)

I also noticed the Snell name faded in 9 holes. or wearing off if you want to call it that. Honestly if may sounds stupid but I liked it faded HAHAHA It seemed to soften the look of the name size.

So which ball is better... Damn good question?

Honestly for me it depends on what I am looking for. I game one already and know what to expect from the feel at impact.... BUT I damn sure I could game all 3 based on today

PUSH come to shove I would toss it up between the PRO V1x and SNELL "Overall" package they were the best. Not one clear leader. If distance is KEY... go Snell. All around I would say PRO V1x. If your already playing the 2015 Pro V1x not sure the Snell could knock it out, just my 2 cents...if your playing the 2014 model... SNELL wins.

I will say I felt the Snell performed as well and felt better than last years Pro V1x if that matters.

B330s is an excellent ball...just confused me. Tee ball was great, feel was great. Short shots... they felt great but I had a few that I thought was spot on and ended up 3.-5 yards short? Putting it felt the best today but I also would hit a putt I thought was in the hole and be short by a foot or so? Maybe the ball is just softer than what I thought and I would need to work with it.... just not sure what the deal was, but I did not have the issue with the other two balls today.

OF COURSE price will always play into it. If you want a ball the FLAT performs for $30 ... SNELL. You can get 3 boxes for the price of 2 of the other brands so that will always factor in. Only issue.... just have to wait for it to ship which could be the issue for some?
(I did hear they may hit stores in April...???)

Been trying to buy a dozen to try and they are having website issues. Still waiting for them to figure them out.

Sorry about that.. we did have some trouble with the website server last week and things should be fine now..

Welcome to the forum. Excellent ball by the way. I am still trying to figure out the dimple pattern....seems familiar to me for some odd reason?

Thanks.. appreciate all the feedback and everyone giving it a try... As you know, the dimple patterns play a huge role in the overall performance of the ball.. once we have the spin and launch we are looking for, then we develop the dimples to control the flight by adjusting sizes, shapes, edge angles, depths, diameters etc...If you get the dimples wrong, you could kill the whole performance... we work hard to get them correct, to make the best performance for all wind conditions, and maximize both carry and roll..

Played 18 holes today. Second round in six months so I wouldn't say I'm exactly grooving it. I was absolutely shocked with the performance from this golf ball. Used the same one the entire time. Noticeably lower flight with the driver for me and I had zero distance loss with my irons from last season.

Highly recommend everyone get a trial dozen!

Got my order today. Pitched some balls in the yard and bounced some off the wedge. The balls feels great. Seems high quality in your hand. Looking forward to getting some in play. I have 20dozen lethals in my garage which is the best ball I've ever played. I'm secretly hoping this isn't better.

Thank you very much... appreciate the support and thanks for the feedback..

I ordered a sample pack, and looking forward to the Tour Ball.

The only criticism I've heard is about the name of the ball and people making irreverent jokes about it.

Have you considered other names, as in something like "Victory Golf Balls." I could see "Victory Tour."

And the name looks available in the USPTO.

Thanks for the order.. naming is always fun in golf.. Victory is somewhat associated with Nike.. I understand the comments on the names, and will for sure take all comments into consideration. The name MY TOUR BALL is not suppose to mean Mine, as in Deans Tour ball, but instead it is for you the consumer.. so when someone asks what you are playing, you can say, "I am playing MY TOUR BALL". in other words I designed this for you, manufactured for you, performance for you, and priced for you... so hopefully people will be happy to make that claim. I know, a bit confusing.. but as I like to say, let it develop.. haha.

Played several holes with the "my tour ball". Appreciate posts from the company, and see what they're saying. But still don't like the name. Haha. Sorry, anything starting with "my" sounds like a product for babies or children. "My first _______"

Anyway, the performance is top notch. Comparable with premium balls from Titleist, B-stone, TM, etc. Would absolutely recommend it.

If it works it doesn't matter what you call it. Thank you for the direct marketing approach and a resonably priced high performance ball.
So took the snells to my local club for a lunch time short game session today. Chipped and putted for about an hour on a practice area im very familiar with. Long story short, this ball peforms great and is nearly identical to a Lethal in my opinion. Honestly it reminds me of the Taylormade TP3 which was the longest ball ive every played. This feels almost identical. Looking forward to getting out on the course for some full swings with the Snells but im not sure the Lethals will be for sale anytime soon! Cant beat what i paid for the Lethals.

Just ordered a pack of My Tour Balls last night. After reading all these reviews I just had to try them. Also bought a sample pack of some Tour preferred, RZN Platinum and Pro V1 so those 4 balls will be going up against my Lethals. My clubs are all set so I have to tinker with something haha

Love the ball, performs as well if not better than the ProV1 with woods, irons, wedges and putter. I could really care less about the name if the ball performs, for $31.99, no more Titleist for me!
I'm sure it will change but for the moment I don't need to mark my ball either.
Had some great looks last week in San Diego when I announced what ball i was playing too! I'll be ordering more soon!
Thx SNELL Golf.

Sorry Mr. Snell I just realized your last name was Snell (LOL) I read your story but spaced on the last name.

I spent some time with Snell My Tour Ball. I did some short game testing as well as Trackman.

Short story, not a good fit for my game.

I compared it to TayloMade TP (non x) (last years gamer) and 2015 Pro V1x (this years gamer).

Feel was ok, but preferred the feel of the others more.

Around the greens it was similar to gamers.

150 yards and in Snell was ok, but I found it to spin slightly less. This was confirmed on Trackman, about 300 rpm less, for me.

Long irons were similar to others.

Driver, was by far the shortest of the bunch and had the most spin. Also, felt firmer than TP and V1x. Trackman showed about 2 mph less ball speed than TP and 3 less than V1x. Spin was 200 more than TP and 600 more than V1x.

I wanted to like it, as Snell was the driving force behind TM balls I've been playing for years... But it simply wasn't the case, for me.
