Anyone know why George doesn't play in the Humana or AT&T any longer?

I don't know, but I do recall coming to the conclusion that the PGA Tour event for which he used to be the spokesperson treated him shabbily when dismissing him from his leadership role. Perhaps he's a bit "turned off" to things.

(That's an opinion of mine, as subjective as it could possibly be.)

Shackelford reported years ago that Lopez was a bit too edgy for the folks that ran the tourney. They learned that a bit too late.

I agree, althogh if I had to make a call I would say he has more talent in golf than comedy.

his comedy is funny for those in the Latin community and familiar with his background . But he's shtick gets old real fast. Same ol rehashed stuff.

He jokes around about the Mexican stereotype and that doest play well for corporate PC America or their sponsors..Unfortunately Lopez doesnt know when to turn it off and his schtick does get old

I've shot his Cameron stuff (covers, bags and putters) a few times when he played the Justin Timberlake LV Open, the Bob Hope, Pebble Beach and a couple of other Tour events

Yep, he lacks originality and wit, just goes back to the well over and over. Unfortunately that well dried up in the early 80s, but ol George sticks to what he knows. No surprise he's a fan of ol Lee, but shows he has some taste never the less.

True... The PGA felt that Lopez just did come up to the level of a Bob Hope type host. The Humana now has Bill Clinton which appeals to a bigger audience than Lopez.

I always thought Lopez comedy is funny but certain things (like his wife donating a kidney to him and then he divorcing her, calling Jay Leno a back-stabber and two-faced, feuds with other people in the entertainment industry) just turns me away from him.

Yeah the kidney thing with his wife as well as some other stuff make him a pretty unsavory character in my opinion.
