It's OK, we can accept that one person or team winning or not winning does not validate us as either a nation or a continent. People screw up, people outperform, none of it is going to damage our national psyche. Ref the England football team since 1966, and any England cricket team since about 1890.

I have to agree that the players the OP mentioned didn't make it through Sunday the way we should be expecting -compared to the three days prior-.

It seems they haven't been able to handle the pressure, maybe something else.. Who knows? It makes for some exiting tournaments and that's what we want right?

By the way: Reed hitting it into the water at the second he's on top with Harrington could be considered chocking up too

It is one thing if you play well and lose but Poults has the worst round of the day going. Tied for the lead with what? 10 to play. He is going to be lucky to stay in top 10. I think this does constitute a 'meltdown'.
