Did i just buy a unicorn? Speeder 757 Evo 7.2 X?

i confirmed with fuji this is first - real and second - a tour only, tour issue shaft...i bought it on Sunday...due to arrive tomorrow.

 

i'm asking to see if anyone else has seen/heard/swung this shaft?

I have seen a few of these-I believe this is just TM keeping their graphics constant with TP models in stores. I have seen a few versions of Motore Speeder TS and VC models with the 757 or 869 graphics painted on.

it's not marked Tour Spec like TM shafts are. also - TM isn't marking their shafts with the 7.2 notation (words from Fujikura)...

He's right tho, it's a tour issue 7.2 (probably non TS obviously) painted up to be look like retail. They've been doing it for some time previously.

Pretty sure this is a white motore 7.2 with the new graphics. They are making these to look like the stock shafts in the TP clubs for the tv cameras.

I called and had a long talk w chad...I sent him pics and im waiting to hear back from him. I asked him some questions based on what you guys said and he said he will do more research because he said "I dont believe its just a paint over, I want to make sure I get it right before saying yes or no"

Thats not the same shaft. Not even close. Mine doesnt say tour spec...anywhere on it.

Chad said yes, hes aware of such a thing...however he said he needed pics after I told him tour spec was NOT on the shaft and it was in a black/dark grey paint scheme. He said he would've thought if it didnt say tour spec that it would've been a blue version.

Fair enough. I guess I have seen ones like yours (I believe I have seen 8.2 TS, 8.2 in 869 graphics, and 7.0, 7.2 TS and 7.2 in 757 graphics). Due to the large number of models that I have seen under Evo 757, 661 and 869 graphics, I guess I am presuming this is the new TM for TV paint jobs.

I have looked into this previously, and watched a number of these go on ebay as I am anxiously awaiting the Motore Speeder series shafts to come out with "Evolution" tech...

Just heard back from Chad - he said that it [size=4]"looks like our Speeder 757 Evolution Tour Spec cosmetics" however, "It could be a situation that we discussed yesterday" --- our discussion was about the possibility it could be a speeder 757 with a 7.2 profile OR it could be a motore tour spec 7.2 with the mentioned cosmetics -

either way, it was delivered to my door today and it will be put in play with my Vapor Pro this saturday --- should be interesting [/size]

Whatever it is, it IS a Fujikura which means buttery smooth delivery and long bombs. I guess that's all that matter at the end of the day.

I am still backing the standard 7.2 in 757 graphics. Superb shaft. Not impossible it is a 7.2 in the new materials tho. Hope you hit it well.

So, I'm completely new to these shafts. I hit a white 757 in a demo a few weeks back and really liked it, so I bought one for my R15 off ebay. I've read many of the different names 7.1, 7.2, evo, etc. Are these all different models of the same basic shaft, or completely different?

I feel like the guy someone mentioned. Hit it well, but have no idea what I have.

How did the shaft turn out? I just bought one on eBay similar to yours but a 661 Evo 6.2 X. I play the VC 6.2 TS with my Vapor pro but I like the black graphics of the "tour issue" shaft better.

i played both of these this weekend ...well, i wanted to ---

i hit on the range first to see how the Fuji Pro TS 73x vs. the speeder 757 evo 7.2 x would feel against each other.

- the evo is smoother but the fuji feels more stable, not just through impact but also through the swing. (the evo felt like i lost where the head was in the downswing)
- the evo spun a little more than the Pro, at least that's how it looked, and the Pro was a little bit longer distance wise
- the Pro was much better for dispersion, however i think it could have to do with the evo being a 1/2" longer (plays to 45.5") than the Pro.


thoughts - i will be tipping the evo to see if it will bring in the dispersion and drop a few revs of spin as well. if it doesn't fit the bill it will be going in a vapor speed 3w.

my guess is that the shaft is NOT an evo but a 7.2, non-tour spec motore. I will always admit when i'm wrong about something and i do believe credit is due to the boys up top who said it could be a re-badged speeder.

Any updates on if these are previous models with all the new technolgy or the old versions with a new paint job? I have a speeder 869 8.1 and dont see the point of installing it if its identical to the current 8.1 I already have installed.

I just purchased on that has Speeder 757 EVO graphics and shows 7.2 Tour Spec.

 

Reading trough this thread, and some others, wondering if this is the 7.2 TS instead of the normal 7.2 like talked about on here.
