so I bought this Byron 006 simply because it came with a Turf's Up tool... a very rare find if you are wondering... I said to myself,"Self, just buy it, keep the tool and sell the putter..." Well, I got the putter and wow... it was so underrepresented by the photos that I wanted to keep it. Those photos were the Master P to Ricky Williams in contract negotiations.... ok... not that bad but you get the point. But, I thought and I figured that with welded neck Byron should be able to face balance it and worse case scenario I have another great putter in my arsenal.

 

I contacted Byron about adjusting the loft/lie, possibly refinishing and face balancing it.... well normally, 2 out of 3 ain't bad but in this case the thing he cannot do is face balance it. I know there are some tricks I can do to get this thing more towards face balanced but I want to see if I can sell it first since I have a brand new DH89 to use and have Lump working on a Damascus mallet for me.

 

I won't be too upset if this doesn't sell.... it is more of a want to sell than a need to sell.

 

From top to bottom this has quite a few rare qualities than the other Byrons' you will see around.

Milling: looks like his Tuna Mill #4 but could be wrong.

Material: 303 Stainless Steel

Head Weight: 350g

Finish: Pacific Sunset high polish (previous owner told me that this has not been used since Bryon did the refinish job.. although the putter is a few years old as you know since from what I know the 006 is discontinued but I could be wrong there)

Length: 34"

Neck: WELDED HEXAGONAL twisty neck... you don't see these everyday

Alignment aid: WELDED sightline... yeah... welded... and even though the pictures looks off it is pretty darn straight. Why didn't I see this before I ordered my 89???and from what I remember you haven't seen one on BST in a long time and I look at every Byron.. because if I saw it I would have had it done to my 89.

Grip: comes with Black Iomic grip... I also have a gently used SS 1.0 Black/White and a brand new Black Byron Stitchback with "Byron Design" ... pay asking price and get all 3 if you want them.

Loft: I don't know this one. Byron said he usually goes with 3* unless told otherwise.

Lie: again, I don't know this one

Cover: Brand new Black Coyote cover

Paintfill: Tiffany Blue... I will strip it if buyer would like

Stamps: Cavity "PROTO" (R is upside down)... Face "California Flatsticks" ... Left Bumper "006" Right bumper "HEX" (for the hexagonal neck)

Toe Hang: See pic....

Shaft band is in great condition

I was thinking the same thing. But for less than $50 Byron can refinish it or they can send it away to 'someone' for refinishing.
This would look cool glass blasted.
Anyone that may have reservations with the finish can contact me and we can work something out. Changing the finish is the easy part.
