Wasn't there a HUL.. guy here that was a Mills collector?

And, any idea what Mills site is current? google search brings up several, but none seem current.

After Jay Green left things became a little unorganized. David definitely needs a good website at some point and a simple way for people to contact the company. I think Craig is a good guy and he will take care of you once you get a hold of him. Seems like they are just feeling things out and trying to figure out what direction to go in.
They better figure it out soon though. I know several die-hard Mills fans that are getting frustrated. :(

I was on there today looking at their site to see how much one would cost since I'm thinking of getting one. On their site they said they won't be taking orders until next month. Maybe they are on vacation.

Ya, pretty sad. Makes me think I'll look in another direction. Can't get anyone to reply to emails, nothing on the site for sale........strange.

It is pretty sad. I own about a dozen Mills putters and I've bought and sold several others over the years and they are by far some of the best putters I've ever owned.
From what I've heard over the past couple years, David just doesn't seem to be in the mood to make putters. At the very least, he is concentrating more on the Asian market versus the American market and that's making access harder for us (in America) as far as putters are concerned.
I wish nothing but the best for David and the Mills company. But if he wants to keep us American's as loyal customers (or build new customers) then he better develop a relationship with us, design a decent website, and get a good customer service rep (like Jay was) to build a relationship with customers (and future customers) that the company can build on and sustain the relationship they already have with Mills fans.

TP Mills is an amazing putter company. TP paved the way with milled putters and David has picked up where his father left off with some amazing stuff. I would hate to see them fold because of lack of effort (at this point). It's just too good a product to go out like that.

I'm also a fan of Mills putters and own a few. I'm in Japan and there seem to be alot fewer putters making there way over here in recent times. A couple of years ago the Japanese site usually had 20-30 putters for sale at any one time - I think at the moment there are only 3 or 4 plus a ton of the jeans pacific touring pro models which really aren't good. It appears the same guy that distributes Byron putters here is also doing some business with Mills, he has some very nice putters at times plus quite a few Anvil series for sale. I'm still kind of jealous of you guys though, in Japan the prices for custom-level mills putters are astronomical.

I know David was/is doing more in the Asian market. It started with the mass produced, cheap version "Touring Pro Model" made in various models (which now show up on eBay as something great) and twice the price. I understand why he would do that I guess, which was some time ago, but to just stop making putters for the US market is weird. Maybe he is making more money in Asia than he thought and is just letting that happen as he has nothing in the making or marketing of the putters. Like the Spalding days for his father.

I have owned some TP Mills putters over the years and have always looked to them first whenever I was in the mood for something new as I'm a big fan of the traditional flow neck blade shapes and that company defined those shapes more than anyone else did it seems. I haven't kept up with all the comings and goings but I seem to recall reading on one of the forums the reason David did the Jeans Pacific deal was to raise capital for a new shop as the current shop was an obstacle to growing the business any further. I never heard anymore about that and that deal seemed to blow up in their face as those putters started showing up on ebay presented the same as the handmade versions at similar price points and no-one seemed to be able to get that stopped for much too long a time. I thought they were on the way up a few years ago when they had Jim doing the headcovers and Jay was the distributor as they were doing new and exciting things. Now you can't even figure out how to get in touch with them or how to buy one of their putters. It makes me sad in a lot of ways. I have noticed there is a ton of TP Mills putters (the real ones) made by David and some going back to TP himself showing up on ebay and selling for a fraction of what they would have sold for several years ago and I don't know if that's a sign of people getting fed up with them or just a change in the putter market I haven't noticed elsewhere.

I am someone who just recieved a custom handmand LH putter from David and live in the USA! The whole process took about 3 months. I origanally filled out order form on website and did get contacted by Craig about one week later, He put me in contact with David directly. We talked putters and I got a little education along the way, It was a great experience for me and David always responded quickly or gave me a time to talk when he was not working. Now I do still have his personal cell phone # but wouldn't give it out here! LOL

There are many great deals on his past work for much less than what I paid just not in Left Hand. I felt as if I was paying for the whole experience and patience was on my side with winter here in Michigan. T.P. Mills Co. can take on what ever project they want and the work is still quality which their right (good old Capitalism).

At least you know David Mills touches ever product with his name on it these days!

Craig spends a lot of time over on the PutterTalk website. People interested in a Mills may be able to get a hold of him over there in the TP Mills section.

That's great to hear KJ! Roll that putter well. :)
Sounds like once you get a hold of Craig the ball gets rolling. Great to hear David is still very hands on with the orders.
Hope they get a better website up and running soon.

I just sent Craig a message over on PutterTalk, used to always deal with Jay when he was still a distributor. It's definitely much more difficult to find someone at TP Mills nowadays about any inquiries. I'm looking at having a custom stainless heritage round neck made, hoping that it's still possible! Will let everyone know how my inquiry works out and if I can still get a custom mills made

Good luck and I hope everything goes well. Craig seems like a great guy to work with. Just need to get a hold of him.
One of my Mills is a carbon Heritage and I love the head shape. Great putter!

I just spent a couple of hours at Sellinger's in Addison, TX talking to Frank. He recently got back from a visit to Dave, at it seems that Sellinger's will be one of few, or maybe the only US distibutor. I'm not sure if things are 100% set up yet, but I could've ordered a putter today if I wanted to. Anyone looking to order one, might wanna try contacting Frank. I'll see if I can get more info and check back.

Not overly impressed with the Sellingers webpage. I didn't see anything on there but Callaway and some other off brand, plus shafts. No Mills info.

I'm looking at something else. If this Craig guy is working for David, then he should be answering emails. If he is not answering emails, then David needs help. I'll pass. Maybe I'll buy a Cameron.

Bogey, contact Frank directly. He's a great no nonsense fitter at the Addison shop. I don't have the shop number, it should be on the website though. Frank is there 5 of 6 days a week. Sometimes Art fills in. Either should be able to help you with what you are looking for. I watched a guy order a putter the other day.

I have some Mills putters now, but from the first one I ever bought, I had some interaction with David, and he is NOT a marketer or that easy to work with. For whatever reason, he choses not to market his business in the modern world, but I have always had good luck with Jay in the past. I have nothing good to say about David, just my personal opinion.

Great advice, but Mills has an active website, with email address's and phone numbers. No is answering the emails or the phone. I'm sure Frank is a great guy, but I rather not deal through a middle man, and the Mills team is not talking. There are plenty of other custom makers out there that have families to feed and bills to pay. I'll go that route.

I hear you, but from what I understand Dave is not the people person. I believe Sellinger's and Frank are supposed to fill that void, but it's in it's very very early stages of being established. I wish I had the funds to order a custom from them now, I wouldn't hesitate. But I totally understand where you are coming from. There are a lot of options out there.

I just wanted to add, that based on the good information in this thread, I went to Sellinger's website, navigated to the team member section and obtained Frank's contact information. I sent him an email. He responded a few hours later. This week I will be contacting him and hopefully begin process of getting the putter I want. I was impressed how fast he responded. Hopefully, I will have some nice pics to show off in near future.

Don't think David has ever been a salesman for his products. From what I understand, he has always relied on others to do that. Jay Green was his sales manager for several years and did an excellent job. He stepped down to concentrate on his leather business so David / TP Mills seems to be going through a transition period at the moment.
If people really want a Mills putter at this time, I would suggest a little patience is all. Try getting ahold of Craig over at PutterTalk or Frank at Sellinger's. I'm sure things will come around shortly. It's going to take time to find someone who will/can fill Jay's shoes. But the product is worth the wait.
