100 Holes 4 Kids

Hello WRX land... if I have learned anything from being involved with this community it is that not only can we get a thread locked up pretty quickly, it is that we have a pretty tight knit family here.

 

I wanted to reach out to you all because I got a great phone call today from McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center here in Syracuse, NY. www.mcmahonryan.org

 

The McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending child abuse through intervention and prevention education. The organization coordinates, integrates and facilitates

 

a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and provides safe, child-friendly space where cases of child sexual and severe physical abuse is investigated, evaluated and treated. The McMahon/Ryan Child

 

Advocacy Center is committed to reducing trauma, fostering healing and advocating.

 

 

Someone backed out of the 100 Holes 4 Kids and I was lucky enough to be selected to fill that void. I have been wanting to be a part of this for quite some time and I finally got the call....

 

My only ‘problem’ is I now have 30 days to raise money for this cause when everyone else had all year! But, I am up to the task. Well that and hopefully my back holds up for 100 holes in one day at one of the most challenging courses here in Central NY... Bellevue CC.

 

I know that you most of us get a lot of requests for charity help and I understand that you and/or your companies (if you are local to Syracuse which I know some of you are)

 

cannot give to every single one. But if you are not already involved with this event/charity I would like to be the first to help shed some light on this cause.

 

There are 2 ways to give to this great cause. I can email you a form so you can send in a check or you can visit https://www.justgive.org/corona2015 to make a donation online. If I could go one step further and

 

ask that if you could pass this along to any other WRXer that may not read this I would appreciate it.

 

If you happen to be in the Syracuse area and own a business (or know someone who does) and would like information on corporate sponsorship please email me and I can send you that information as well.

 

No child should grow up afraid of their surroundings and no child should be afraid of those who are supposed to love and protect them.

Congrats on being in the event. I'm also participating, for my 2nd year.

Last year was truly a special and rewarding experience. Playing 100 holes (actually played 104 as we had some bets coming in ) with twenty or so other golfers that achieved nearly $100,000 for such an amazing cause still makes me smile.

What makes me smile even more is that my 5 year old is having a bday party 2 days before the event. He asked on his own to not get gifts and to help daddy with his tournament. So he'll be coming by with his own donations that he receives from his friends at some point during the day. Very very proud of him.

Haven't raised anything here but proceeds from selling items bud. As long as the $ is raised, doesn't matter who it comes from.
