Well, I have some news.

 

For Christmas I got a classic putter I had in the plans with Kari from a while ago. This is an L-Blade inspired in the Bullseye Flange putters but with a few changes in the design making it a bit heavier and more forgiving.

 

As this was a kind of experimental putter, we decided to go on a basic finish, however the putter came out very nice and it performs very well. It's carbon steel, 355g, 69º and 3º with deep milled face and gun metal finish. The grip is a Garsen Ultimate in red.

 

The putter rolls the golf ball nicely and if has a very soft feeling. Maybe it is not a putter for everyone but the limited forgiveness and the lack of alignment aids help to be more careful when putting and as a result this brings improvements when I'm on the green.

 

I'm very happy with this putter. It's great and I'm surprised how it feels and performs, the experiment was a success and although my original idea was to use it as a training aid, I believe it will be in the bag quite often.

Thinking of set up similar to yours in a mini, long round neck to achieve face balance, does yours have any offset at all? I was thinking of trying to achieve half a shaft offset but not sure it is possible in this configuration?

After months of indecisiveness, I finally pulled the trigger. Ordered a v201 center shaft in gloss black chrome.

 

Quick question for you Lajosi owners...does Kari sketch the design (customizations) for approval or start the putter based off the info provided to him?

In my experience (3 putters), he starts the putter based on the info you give him.

I prefer face balanced putters, but i've always wanted one of these and Kari does an amazing job. Rolls it like butter.

I've been stalking his website, PT, eBay, and BST to try to find one to my liking to no avail. Unfortunately to do the custom route bumped out of my pay grade but Kari was very helpful answering all my questions.

Save up for however long it takes and get one made to your specs. Kari is awesome throughout the whole process and when you're done you've got an amazing product that's one of a kind.

I received my DD201 from Kari yesterday and it's absolutely beautiful. Contrary to the previous poster, my communication with Kari has been fantastic and found him extremely accommodating to additions/changes throughout the build. I'll post up pics once I get it outside but here's the overview:

i must admit that the performance has been great. But i asked for a blue midnight finish and somethkng closer to copper color which is also nice, but not what i asked. The paintfill wasnt great. And sometimes i had a question about my putter and it could take up to two weeks before getting an answer. But the build is done with quality. I choose to take lajosi because of the exchange rate with canada. Getting something build in usa is outrageous expensive for us.

So I'm on the verge of putting in a custom order for a dd201. Pretty much have an idea as to what I want...going pretty simple actually. SS with some sort matte finish, 360-365g weight, sightline on flange, softened bumpers and neck and rolled topline. The one thing I'm curious about is I read in another thread someone mention something about a dd201 wide body. Has anyone ordered or seen one? Is it pretty much just a wider flanged dd201 like an odyssey 1 vs 1w? Any pics out there?

huh, you can hardly tell the difference between it and just a regular dd201...i like it! (just prefer a standard plumbers neck though)
