Can anything beat the SLDR 430 on spin?

First let me say that I have no real need to buy anything new. This is simply my ho tendencies chasing unicorns and rainbows. I've tried most of the new stuff except the Bridgestone J715 and Srixon 745. Nothing has matched the 430 yet and I've tried all of the usual suspects. Am I wasting my time even looking for demo's on these two? Does anybody have any input on either one of these drivers vs the SLDR 430?

I'm in the same boat... wondering about the 715 to go along with my J15 MB's, but really love everything about my 430, other than it's not new to me anymore. Thoughts or experiences anyone?

I agree. The 430SLDR is the lowest launching lowest spinnig driver I've ever played. This is coming from a guy who used to play 7.5* drivers (10 years ago).

Like how low are you talking about? Mid 1500 and lower or 2000 and lower?

I tried cobra many times, but I don't really like the shapes of their drivers. I tend to prefer more of a pear shape. It's one of those confidence and comfort things. I was excited to try the new one, but we didn't get along.

Just in general, since everyone is different. 2000 and lower for a lot of people is 2750 for me. My 430 is probably around 2400-2500 on avg. Just trying to get a feel for where the Srixon and Bridgestone are falling for most people vs the other low spin options.

Another one I had high hopes for, but it did not work for me. I actually had pretty high spin numbers with the DBD. Tried adjusting and different shafts but couldn't ever get it dialed in.

Had a BC+ in the bag and was loving it. The low spin increased distance and accuracy. And then, on a whim, I tried the 430 SLDR. I gained both distance and accuracy. Not really even close.

The 430 has nice and clean lines. It didn't take long for me to get it dialed in. And with the right shaft it has become the longest driver I have ever owned. It is, in a word, incredible. And the prices have dropped drastically - got mine for $100 shipped in awesome condition a couple of months ago.

Tour Edge XCG7 Beta
Tour Edge E8 Beta
Cobra Fly Z+ (weight forward, of course)

All lower spinning for me than the SLDR430. Not by much, but definitely lower. Bio Cell Pro was about the same.

I'll tell you what I just went to. Went from a sldr 430 10.5 with speeder 665x to a ping anser 9.5 with a speeder VC 7.2 ts x..,, spin is around the same at 2200 for me. But the anser launches higher ( mid at best ) so I gained nearly 20 yards carry. Easily the best combo I have ever hit. I was just like you thought the 430 would be IT forever. Wasn't even looking. I took the anser in on trade on a whim. Almost didn't hit it . But did and seriously flew the back fence at my house on the first ball. That fence lasers at 312 yards. Most times with the 430 I would roll up to the fence in my best balls. Rarely did I have to pick up a ball over the fence. I've honesty hit a weeks worth of bombs with it . So it's no fluke. It's a low spin beast ! I think on the 430 I may be able to achieve the same results if I went up to a 12 degree head. But I like the anser sound better so I think I'll stay right where I am.

not that i've seen. I'm hoping that the Titleist D4 will be low......if they fix the sound

I forgot about the D4. I had good results with the D3/Rogue combo. Just short of the 430.
