First, if a critic can't even get the name of the person they're criticizing correct, their opinion has no value. Secondly, their opinion here is wrong. Nantz is an anchor/host. His job is not to be controversial. His job is to set the scene and be a master of ceremonies of sorts, with just limited calling of play. The other reason you are wrong is that he is also the best there is at doing that.

Watched the end of the Open, on a high, flip over to TGC to see if Live From is on and the first thing I hear is that nasally voice of Morgan Pressel.  Her voice to me is like the sound of the opening of the egg above water in The Goblet of Fire.  I picture this was the scene when they did focus group testing of Morgan Pressel announcing.

Sky sports in the UK is pretty bad. Nick Doughterty as anchor is a very irritating lightweight who witters a lot and tends to sensationalise things.

 

But Paul McGinley is on another level of dreadful - a tedious, monologing Mcilroy fan boy who never shuts his gob for a second. He also often talks literal nonsense quite regularly and is a figure of fun amongst many UK golf fans for saying things like "Rory's still in this - he just needs to shoot 27 on the back 9 then hope for gale force winds for everyone else". 

 

Faldo comes across as an absolute dinosaur too, despite an obvious deep knowledge of the game. Like a lot of men of his generation he's obsessed with how far pros hit their irons these days. We get it, Sirnick.

I watched the Peacock Sky Sports feed during the Open specifically b/c I enjoyed the commentators, who I now understand came from several countries other than the UK, including Australia. Loved their golf knowledge and humor.  Didn’t overtalk as US ones are wont to do.

That guy that does player interviews instead of Amanda sometimes. He like doesnt maintain the appropriate physical distance…

 

Amanda cause she sometimes makes it hard to focus on what’s being said. And she sometimes goes like “talk about how proud are you…” if anyone asked me that i would go “on a scale of 1-10?”

 

I miss Peter Kostis after-round interviews.

 I mean of course there are things in this world that bother me, annoy me, irk me… But nobody announcing a golf tournament is close to being on that list. I’m pretty sure that’s a positive, but certainly seems to be an anomaly here on WRX.

Oh man, I want to hate Morgan so badly. Mostly to bond with my WRX brethren and feel a sense of acceptance here. But I watch LPGAT coverage and she just doesn’t ruffle my feathers/burn my chicken  🤷🏼‍♂️ It’s like what the heck! What’s wrong with me?! 

As I get older, more self loathing and bitter, I truly hope it can happen… Don’t give up on me fellas!!!

Since the golfwrx community seems to despise 98% of all the golf announcers and commentators across all tv networks, I would like to know who we actually do like.  Please name the few (if any) golf announcers/talking heads that are worthy enough not to be hated by the tuff golfwrx crowd.
