Callaway MB1 irons

I know these were discussed a while ago here. They look like the original proto MBs and then later the Razr MBs. The difference some have noticed is the razrs and protos all say forged, while the MB1s do not say forged. Question is are the MB1s forged or not? If not why produce a cast version?

They are forged and just the Razr X MB's re-stamped. The only difference is they make about four different groove styles/patterns on these based on the player preference. Some are tight like the X Forged 2013...some are spaced like the Apex MB...etc....

Thanks for the info. Just seemed odd on a restamp why remove the forged. Talk about mind over matter a friend has a set of these and an old set of protos. He claims the protos feel much softer...(probably because the MB1s don't say forged)

I have a 'newer' set of the Razr X MB's ...stamped RAZR X...tight grooves...feel amazing..definitely a bit more forgiving then my Apex MB's, but not by much...both are actually pretty forgiving to begin with.

Awesome information. Only complaint I have with mine are the tight numerous grooves. Hard to clean.

He has access to a few OEM tour departments (taylormade, callaway, mizuno, titleist). He had a D4 long before they were announced. He tried once to get a club for me and was told that was a good way to lose his access.
