*bump* Hey fellas thinking about getting a KP1 just curious to know how long the order process was.

One-week from order to my door. Kingston is from the Chicago burbs, so that helped, but the customer service that Kyle offers is second to none.

 

Have emailed back and forth with Kyle the last day or so, top notch guy. I was going to go with another custom Byron but I'm going to give the KP2 a go. Custom hand softened GSS at half the price? Yes please. The new magnetic head covers they just got in are reeeally nice looking as well. Looking forward to this!

I have started my custom process with Kyle, and he has been nothing but pleasant to deal with, and I have asked a lot of questions. Cannot wait to see his mock up for me. He sent me a blank template and I was able to fill in all the stampings on it and sent it back to him.

Can anyone compare a KP1 to a DH89? Carbon or SS doesn't matter to me. Was thinking a KP2 but picked up 615 instead. Would really like a Kingston just debating whether or not to go this route or another Byron for that head shape.

I had one of the nicest DH89 you can buy. Great feeling and looked like a piece of jewelry (that is why I sold it, too nice to use). Now I have 4 engraved and personalized Kingstons and find them as good or better than the Byron and work better for me. Have all of them at C8 swingweight. You can see them on the KIngston forums. Sent 3 to BOS Golf (2 black oxide, 1 for Oil Can) and my GSS to Oneaugusta for Blue Oil torching.

Here is the finished product, Kyle was such a pleasure to deal with, I had countless questions and changes and he was receptive the whole way though. I get my hands on it tomorrow, and I am ecstatic. Kyle even when out and picked up a Maple Leaf stamp for this build, now that is service!

I just started the process with Kyle for my new Kingston. He is by far the best custom putter I have worked with. I ordered a standard KP2 from him in the past and his communication is the best. I wanted to try more of a 009 type headshape and I reached out to Kyle. He is so quick to reply and started on my putter the same night he got my e-mail. I order a carbon 001 with torched oil can finish and I will post pics as it goes through the process. If you are thinking custom I would go with Kyle without hesitation. He sent me this pic at 11 o'clock the night I placed my order.

Just got an updated e-mail from Kyle. His customer service is second to none, we have e-mailed probably 15 times and he has checked with me every step of the way to make sure I am ok with what he is doing. Can't wait to get this one in my hands.

Kyle just finished mine and I should have it Friday. I'm blown away by his customer service and awesome attitude. I went with a pretty simple design, but had some specific particulars that he was helpful in figuring out. Seeing all of these awesome ideas people have done is really inspiring for my next Kingston. If you are on the fence about going with Kingston, I would highly recommend you go for it. Kyle is an excellent person to work with and will get you tailored up exactly as you see fit. Cheers

That is such a good looking putter! Kingston's are way underrated IMO. I have one coming soon and can't wait!

 

Is the grip a reverse curve or is it just lighting?

To be honest, not a huge fan. But, that's because it is a little thick for my liking. The quality of the Big Dog is nice if you are in to that thick of a grip, similar to a 2.0 SS.

 

I think the Pure Midsize is closer to what I like but Kyle didnt have any stock at the time of completion and I didnt want to wait!

Another thing is that the Big Dog is really dense feeling, for lack of a better word. It is a heavy grip and it feels that way. Where a superstroke has a little spongy give, a Big Dog feels like 100% hard rubber. Very little give. Again, for better or worse.

I just love the simple elegance of the GSS KP1. These are great putters.

Here's mine. Very happy with the turnout. Subtle oil can is really beautiful, especially in the sun. Had to get a little nerdy with the stamping. Replaced the atomic weight, "12.011" with "KP001" in the Chem symbol stamp.
