Why does the TW series

Have such long tongues?!?! I could almost like the shoe's unusual feel if it didn't feel as though the tongue went halfway up my shin. And every model is like that, even the TW15s.

I have all of them, I never had any issues with the tongues.

^ homeboy's got it right. I've had three pairs and never had a problem or even really noticed the tongues.

I had tw13's and I took a pair of scissors to the tongue. They were digging into the front of my smoke with short socks on.

They are definitely longer than any other shoe I have ever seen. Unnaturally long. I can't see any reason for it.

I haven't bought any TW shoes because of this reason. It just feels odd and that it would rub on my ankle.

I noticed it too. Not enough to make me stop wearing them though. I just pull up my socks a bit and don't think about it.

I have a pair of TW 14 Mesh and a pair of TW15...the tongues are LONG. They almost made me not want to buy them but after wearing them for a bunch of rounds each, I now realize that I have never even thought about the tongue post-buy. They look tall but as long as they fit you should be good. Now. I kind of like the split of the tongue on the 15's.

That being said, the LC3's have virtually no tongue and still fit nice and snug.

I worried about the tongue on my TWs but even with really short socks, tongue against skin, seems to be no problem.

Tws do have long tongues especially the 13s when I wear pants i wear long socks otherwise i wear puma size 13-15 socks from costco (im a size 12) those "protect" me from the tongues

Bought the TW 14's expecting there to be problems having read on here about the tongue being too long and cutting in.

In the rounds I've used them haven't found there to be a problem at all

I've never had a problem with the length of the tongues, everyone is different.

From these responses, I'm only guessing there aren't a lot of basketball shoes worn. I wear retro Jordan's everywhere but the course and they've always had long tongues. Easier to pull tight before you tie them.

I guess I've never noticed the tongues on the TW series as they are much smaller than my J's.

I've owned and worn plenty of basketball shoes. These are different. At least IMO. ANd there seem to be plenty of people who agree with me. So why make them so long for no apparent reason if there are this large amount of potential customers who are bothered by them? Nike must have some purpose to it, but why? Tying the shoes tighter doesn't seem like a plausible reason, especially for low top shoes.

I agree. The tongues have been unusually long, especially compared to other Nike golf shoes or Nike Free athletic shoes. Those disagreeing about the length of the tongue not being noticeable is surprising to be honest.
