Finished product. Older betti mizuno gone plum brown. My ode to the BECU Anser 2. Only the sightline filled, 9.5” first step putter shaft and corded Lamkin deep etched. She’s a beauty, can’t wait for it to continue to patina. 
 

lots of softening of the lines from when it first arrived. Final head weight is in the 335 range. 
 

special thanks to OneAugusta, he is a great member of the forums. Didn’t bat an eye at my 1000 questions. He really knows how to apply his finishes.

Beautiful, great refinish from what you first got. What did you do exactly to get the plum brown?

Started with a strip of the putter head with the original black oxide finish, then lots of sanding to even out some dings and get to the bottom of some of the pitting. Once it’s where you want it , finish with lots more fine steel wool.

 

then from my understanding from OA,

 

clean, degrease, no touching with bare hands, torch till water sizzles, apply plum brown with a cotton ball. Repeat until desired darkness, coat with oil and let sit overnight in the oil

 

if you get scared like I did to apply it by yourself, shoot Augusta a message. He is very reasonable and applies it wonderfully.
