Project X PROTO shaft the "HZRDUS"

What do you guys play in your 3Ws? I have a HZRDUS Black 6.0 75g in my driver and it plays great. Should I put another 75g in my fairway? I tend to like heavier shafts in my fairways but I do have a 75g in my Baffler that works well.

I see someone has a 85g black but is that only for tour players? Would I just need to stalk ebay for one?

I use the 85g HZRDUS Black in my driver. Just super stable and consistent. In my 3w, I have an Aldila Tour Blue 85. I don't have the $$ get more HZRDUS but an 85 or 95g red would be killer.

I've been swinging a JPX900 with a 75g 6.5 HZRDUS Red and man, the 75g just feels so freakin' stable and buff. I can't wait to swap that shaft into my M2 Fairway head. It's killing me. I'd say, try out the 75g and go from there. If it doesn't work, you'll know pretty quickly and I can't imagine you won't be able to unload that on the BST.

Who here has the HZRDUS Red in the Fairway wood? I'm really looking for some feedback as I just traded someone my Tensei CK Blue for a non-handcrafted HZRDUS Black 65g 6.5 to put in my driver. I hit it at the range last night and am dumbfounded by it. I was hitting the sweet spot practically every time. And the flight was just phenomenal. Anyway, I just bought an M2 Fairway 3 & 5 wood and am looking to put the HZRDUS Red in them both and am looking for some feedback on how people like the Red in the fairway woods. Thanks!

On a side note; these M2 woods are freaking so explosively amazing. I just wait for the ball to explode after pure impact. It's nutty.

I've got the Tour Issue Red 62 gram or whatever in the driver, got the identical shaft after that in the fairway. I personally like a light fairway shaft... But keep in mind, the M2 is very low spinning in the fairway, at least for me. So my recommendation is to stick with light! DM me if you'd like.

The Tensei to me is very sloppy, weak and not consistent. It's tipped at 1.5 inches in my 3W and 5W and it's an X. I would think that would feel like a telephone pole but it quite honestly sucks. I am just waiting for my installation guy to become available to install my two HZRDUS Reds I bought. One of them is installed in a JPX900 Fairway wood and the shaft feels absolutely amazing in that head. I have hit it a few times but I don't want to keep hitting it because I'm going to swap the shaft and sell it. Anyway, I haven't been able to see the ball flight because it's been hit in my cage but how's the ball flight? I'm looking for a 9-12 degree launch. The Tensei launches much higher than that. I assume that is because it's so weak but I'm not sure.

I had the chance to test the T1100 at a PXG demo day at the club I work at yesterday. Boy is it a LOT of shaft. I currently game the yellow 6.5 75g in my M1 430 which is an amazing combo for me. With ~115 ss I can load the yellow easily, smooth swing or really going after it it performs and doesn't go left! But the T1100 in 6.5 felt too stiff IMO. I really had to step on it to feel like I got it fully loaded. Even if they do release it to the public I'll be keeping my yellow bagged! Awesome looking shaft graphics though!

I have a Black 6.5 75g in my M1 3 wood.

Loved it at first when I first got fit for it, but struggling a little now and I wonder if its too low spin for me. I have a driver SS of 110-115 and play a Fuji speeder 665 evolution II in my driver.

Hitting a lot of low cuts. Going to mess around with lead tape and adjusting the loft see if that helps.

Can anyone compare the Hzrdous to the Aldila Rogue 110msi? Talking about the 70ish gram version - X Flex (6.5)

I used both. I kept the HZRDUS Black. It fit my swing better. I'm not going to go on and on about why it outperformed the Rogue, it just did.

How were they different in terms of launch height, spin etc?

What's your typical drive like?

Just trying to get a sense as to how it will fit me

I have played a tour issue Jetspeed 10.5/ 60gm Whiteboard/stiff with the actually loft of 11.2 for a few years now as it was predicable distance wise and I could work the ball with the driver. Recently hit a buddy's M1 9.5 with a stiff Kuro Kage and really like it! So I went and purchased the same set up and I hated it!! Installed the Whiteboard in the M1 head and it was a little better but not enough to put the club in play. Played in a Pro/Am a few weeks ago and was lucky enough to try a Yellow Hzrdus in an M1 head and liked it much better. Fast forward and I recently installed a 6.0 Yellow Hzrdus 65 in my retail M1 9.5 head and it was money yesterday!! My club head speed is around 100-105 and this shaft was hard for me to turn over which I liked! Also picked up a Red Hzrdus 75 gm to install in my 3 wood but my club guy is on vacation so I will up date you on that shaft later!

I got my HZRDUS Reds installed this week in both my M2 3w and 5w. IMMEDIATELY, just swinging it with no ball, I felt the difference over my Tensei 70x. The best way to describe it, is it' feels completely stable all the way through the swing. It's nice and stout, but not overly stout like the Black Tie is. I have only hit it into my back yard net but man, it's a totally different club. I can't wait to take it out to the range tomorrow and on the course this weekend. It's going to be insanity.

If the Black is too low spin, I HIGHLY encourage you to try out the Red. It feels just like my M1 driver shaft with regards to stability but different because of club length, swing weight and overall total static weight. Do it, you won't regret it.

I'll update you guys on how it plays this weekend come next week. I am playing a tournament on Saturday and a normal round on Sunday so I should get plenty of usage out of it.

I have a 75 6.0 handcrafted in a new G LS 9 degree head but haven't gotten to hit it yet. The fitting numbers on an outdoor launch monitor were impressive and hoping I see the same numbers on the course. I was spinning the ball way too much and this combo basically cut the number number in half. I'll report back with my findings after a few range sessions and a round or two.

What is your SS and angle of attack?

Also. Did you have this combo tipped when you were trying it out?

Bringing back this thread. I recently tested out a friend's handcrafted Yellow (5.5) in my M2 head and really liked the feel and dispersion of the shaft. Only drawback right now is the price for the shaft (~$200 on eBay for a pull or $300 new) and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a similar shaft that's a little more affordable. From my research and older shaft that may perform similarly is the UST AxivCore Green 65 which has similar specs. Any other recommendations or should I just bite the bullet and get the Yellow?

My recommendation would be to bite the bullet and get the yellow. Probably the closest thing I can think of as an alternative is the Rogue Silver. It has a counter balance to it and it's fairly low launch and spin as well. Since they came with no upcharge for the M1, you can usually find them for $100 or less.

...but seriously, just get the yellow.

Have you looked at the non-handcrafted Yellow? That may be cheaper. Either way, bite the bullet.

Bringing back again while looking for some recommendation. As stated before, look up the non handcrafted. I've seen stores in the UK that offer the yellow + tip + grip for 180 pounds, around 225$.

I'm getting fitted on Saturday and hopefully getting either black or yellow. Just got a set with PX 6.5 for my irons and I really want to change my stock Ping shafts and put in PX.

32" from tip to Top of the Handcrafted.

DB

DB - know you know if some of the earlier made handcrafted had the logo placed differently? I have an uncut Tour Issue Hzrdus Yellow and it appears the tip to top of the Handcrafted is only 31". It also has a different 6.5x logo in the diamonds than my other Tour Issue Yellow. Just want to be sure I tip them the same but it appears the earlier model may have had different placement?

Thanks!
