Ok so how would the 75g version play vs the 85g X BiMatrix? I assume the tip will be as stout or maybe a tiny bit less than the steel on the matrix but what about the rest? I love the look of it but as a poor student can't be messing with shafts every week....the only true graphite shaft I still have in the backup closet until it sells is the venerable Aldila NV Spin, feel, dispersion vs the matrix would be great!
i haven't hit the heavier weight BiMatrix -- but when i hit the 70ish version of the BiM i found it to be a bit eh feeling. yea it was tip stiff but in terms of spin it was always in the middle for me and not a true low spinning shaft...i reiterate, for me.

in low/low spin/launch shafts i've hit the aldila NL (70g series, x), black tie (70g, tour x), bb7x tipped 3/4" , motore speeder 7.2 tour spec x - tipped 1/2", diamana whiteboard 82x tipped 1" --- all of those are close, but not as accurate dispersion-wise as the HZRDUS (from what i've seen so far) and from the looks of it, the HZRDUS is getting much better roll.

I was lucky enough to score a HZRDUS (65g 6.5 black version) and have had it in play for a couple weeks. I originally played it in an SLDR head and thought it was pretty good but the launch and spin were a little lower than I need. I had the tip pulled and installed it in an Aeroburner TP to go head-to-head with an AB TP with Xphlexxx Agera (which I thought would go to the grave with me given the extremely tight dispersion and perfect launch it had provided me). Well, in my first round with the HZRDUS I was reaching parts of the course that I normally only get to from more forward tees and I hit all but one fairway. The HZRDUS is certainly the longest shaft I have ever hit and the feel and dispersion are absolutely fantastic. I thought maybe it was a fluke to hit it so well during the first round but have played a handful of additional rounds and it has not disappointed in the least bit. Hard to describe feel but it is sooo smooth and you can feel the kick at impact but yet it is incredibly stable. Like previously mentioned the ball reaches its apex quickly (not high launching whatsoever probably more of a mid launch) and roll out is great. I normally play a heavier shaft (70+ grams) so thought the 65g might be too light but it doesn't feel as light as other 60-70g shafts I have tried and dispersion is similar, if not better, than the other shafts I have tried (Rogue 125 MSI 70TX, Agera, Speeder Evolution 757 TS, AD DI 8X, etc.). I've tried most modern high end shafts and the HZRDUS has impressed me the most. Can't wait to find an 80+ gram to try in a 3 wood. I wish I had LM data to compare but unfortunately don't have access to anything nearby. All I can say is the HZRDUS will likely put an end to my driver hoing and I can see it staying in the bag for a very, very long time.

The BiMatrix only comes in 65/85g?

All x flex are 85 and all s are 65, if you hit the s then that's a completely different animal to the x

reading all these reviews so far makes me really want to try a 70 ish Gram in the driver...

My Hybrid shaft HB6 is still the only hybrid shaft i have ever liked and own a couple of 8a4s in three woods in the past...
First off, I need to say thank you to True Temper for sending me this shaft. It was totally beyond anything they needed to do and I greatly appreciate it! Just finished 18 with the HZRDUS. What everyone has said so far is spot on. This shaft is SO smooth and stable. I have the 85 in 6.5. It was installed to play 45.5" in a Big Bertha Alpha in case I found 6.5 to be a little soft and needed to tip it. Turns out, it's perfect. I can put a smooth swing on it or go after it and it stays with me. The shaft I was playing before in the BBA was an Accra Tour Z+. I was playing a course I've played many times before and can't use a driver on too many holes but got enough swings in to get a good idea. TL;DR version - crazy smooth and stable and I was hitting it farther and straighter than I ever have. The Accra and BBA was long and produced mid flight slightly rising shots. The HZRDUS hits balls that have no rise whatsoever. The ball climbs so flat and just keeps going. The people I was playing with kept saying how long the ball stayed in the air. Then the ball would hit and roll out. When I would hit it off center a little, the ball wouldn't stray too far. On every hole, I was closer to the green than I have ever been and my misses were closer to the fairway. The feel very DI-like but I've found the DI to feel loose. The HZRDUS felt just like it in the hands but without the looseness. The only shaft I've played that resembles it is the Altus 80. I've never hit the Rogue or any of the more modern high end shafts so I can't compare it. I am incredibly impressed with this shaft. It is staying in my bag for the foreseeable future. GREAT JOB TRUE TEMPER!!!
i'm a hard swinger of the club -- i'll be honest i don't know how you're hitting the 80g version of this lol i'm glad i'm not just sippin syrup -- glad to see we're getting similar results.

are you seeing the same thing i am? --- it gets out there and hits the ground runnin like a pissed off squirrel? i've hit some high towering bombs that hit and just take off rollin...
I'm a pretty hard swinger. Last time my SS was measured it was 120ish. I play PX 7.0 in my irons and tipped KBS Tour X iron shafts in my hybrids. For me, the weight is all about keeping my tempo and swing under control. Anything lower than around 78-80g cut and I can start to lose it. My previous shaft in the BBA was an Accra Tour Z 75+ M5 tipped about 1/2". It played well but spun more than I'd like. I just like the extra weight really.

I was a little skeptical at first but hopeful with this shaft after everyone had said such glowing reviews. My first swing at the range was a mid height laser that just kept going and going and going, farther than what I'd hit my previous setup. I thought, "that's cool, but probably a fluke." The next 4 were carbon copies of the first and I giggled a little. Then I tried to slice it, not just fade it. It slices alright but it wasn't the towering spinner I was used to seeing. Then I hooked one and it turned left but it wasn't quacking while doing it. I hit about 20 more after that and they all were beauties, some power fades, some gentle draws (mostly from off center hits) but all lasers. There were a few where I knew I mishit it and expecting it to go somewhere I didn't like but it just kept tracking but with a slight tail on it. On the course was the same thing. The ball would land where I thought it would and we would find it about 20-30yds farther. The only shaft that I had this good of a result from so soon was the Altus 80 but it wouldn't provide the same level of straight as the HZRDUS.

i'm with you -- i'm an average 115-118 swinger. i found that although it's listed as low flight, it's very workable high and low...right to left/left to right are pretty easy to work too but like you said, no high balloons - think bubba cuts/draws. i hit a rope cut yesterday that got about 100' off the deck and kept banking right like a fighter jet...hit and rolled a solid 20-30 like you said.

solid props to px...they really did nail this one i think.

Great ball flight but I never liked the feel. HZRDUS is sounding more and more like the shaft I need.
it will definitely spin less than your black tie. i hit a couple nukes today. gps'd a 312, 327, 332 and a 305. this shaft is great -- but i think the head is what's holding me back. i had to put a whole bunch of lead tape on the XR to get it to a) sound better and b) feel the head in the swing (was getting 'lost' in the transition before, leading to wider lefts/rights --- much better now). i have an SLDR (japan black version) 430 head on it's way to get installed on a HZRDUS black. that should do the trick. either way, i'm still super impressed with how stable it is.
Interesting. I have been messing with lead tape on my RFE. Putting 4-6 grams on the head, another 4 on the black tie 7m3. Starting to feel like a sledge hammer, and I love it.

I hope the reviews continue to stay positive over the long haul. The PX graphite shafts tend to be the most accurate, lowest spinning shafts on the market - yet continually get overlooked. I don't know why this is the case, perhaps because there are so many other good shafts on the market that are standard offerings through OEMs? When it comes down to it the only reason I switched back off from the PXLZ 7.0 was the weighting throughout the swing - not performance. Thinking about it now, there was not a legitimate performance reason to change... I gained feel by switching back to the 7.2TS - but the flight isn't as tight. 68.5g vs 76g.

I'm guessing that even the slight difference in the KK70xts will be felt - yet the HZRDUS will kill it it in spin, flight and dispersion.

I plan on waiting for the 75g version and making a direct comparison to the 7.2TS. Wouldn't doubt if I had to adjust my FLEX up to 10.5 (right) to maintain the optimal trajectory.

swanry - i had/have the 7.2TS x in my vapor pro. this HZRDUS, even though it is lighter than the 7.2, it feels close, but not as smooth as the 7.2, however the performance is not only noticeable, but distinctly better. i see more roll than i did with the TS, better flight in terms of a boring, straight, flat flight vs. the TS (more of a higher angle off the face/launch, gets up to apex and then comes down with minimal roll) -- and the dispersion not only side to side but distance carried/total is very consistent. my suggestion would be, when you find a HZRDUS, put them side by side and i'd be willing to bet you'd notice similar. the flex with one of these might be TOO low spin.

I really want to try this shaft soon. I am having a ton of success with the LZ, and I know the profiles are totally different, and the looks alone are making me lust for a HZRDUS
I don't have the handcrafted LZ, but I love the 6.5 in the DBD head, fantastic combo.

I may have to restock the PP account and look into one of these in the near future.

I'm sitting at the range at The Barclays watching Jimmy Walker hit his driver OVER a massive oak tree that's probably 50' high and about 175/200 out. Ball was hitting its peak right over the tree It looked like he had a HZRDUS in there. Hard to tell for sure but it was an all black shaft with a marking up by the grip. Man was he hitting that thing far!

There are two fitters that I trust in PDX that say they haven't seen anything as straight as the PXLZ - yet echo my comments on it not moving as much as other premium shafts. When I was looking at a Rogue 125 they reassured me that it wasn't going to top the shafts that I already have (7.2TS / PXLZ 7.0). They were right as I feel the Rogue liked to go left more. Tipping the Rogue appropriately would more than likely alter the results - so I have been keeping my opinion quiet.

I should have a 75g HZRDUS to test in a month.

Ok so just finished using my Black HZRDUS with Ping tip in a 9 degree G30 LS. Honestly I do not swing hard enough. When i went full bore it was great, no side spin at all. Straight knuckle bombs. I would say it needs 113+ average swing to hit it. I made it a 46 inch or slightly over.
But I have decided to stay with my old shaft. So I have a new uncut Black 62 X and a Black 62 X with Ping tip that plays 46 or slightly over installed. It was tipped 1 inch by the way.

Well a 6.5 (X) with 1" tipping especially in this shaft would be pretty firm. That's why I'm searching for a 6.0. I normally play X but the 6.0 tipped should be a better fit for me.
