Anyone have only one OEM in their bag?

No I don't play with only one brand and if I had all the money in the world I still wouldn't. I love the feel of the Mizuno irons and wedges. As for drivers and woods I don't think TaylorMade can be beat. For putters I love my Odyssey, so it's all personal preference but here is an easy layout for me (if I had the moeny):

 

Driver: TaylorMade

Wood: TaylorMade

Hybrid: TaylorMade

Irons: Mizuno

Wedges: TaylorMade

Putter: Titleist

After outgrowing my cheapo beginner set, I started compiling a brand new bag, and originally, I'd hoped to go all Callaway.

 

Started with a set of X-18s and the X 3 wood, then grabbed an odyssey putter and a new Callaway stand bag.

 

Was hoping to get the X-Tour wedges, but decided I wanted a 54 and 58 rather than a 56 and a 60, which are the only lofts Callaway makes for lefties. So I went with Cleveland, instead.

 

Then I set out to buy a hybrid, but didn't like the look of either the X hybrid or the Fusion hybrid, so I wound up with a Cobra Baffler DWS.

 

After that, it was time for driver shopping, and I found myself incredibly disappointed with Callaways $300 offerings. The Big Bertha didn't appeal to me at all, the FT-5 was way out of my price range, and so was the Ft-i, obviously. Didn't get the X 460, because, for better or worse, I wanted a new model. Wound up with a HiBore XL instead.

 

Now I've got Callaway, Cleveland and Cobra. Also, I just picked up a Taylor Made Daytona 1-02 putter, and I'm loving it so much that it's about to knock the Odyssey out of the bag for good.

 

So yeah, the one OEM thing didn't work for me, but it's primarily because I'm a) left-handed and b) poor. Regardless, I couldn't be happier with my current set-up.

Almost all Ping except for my 3 wood and putter and I do not have plans to change either of them. I got my irons and then added the wedges to go with them. Kind of lucked into the 2 iron and driver. Personally I could care less about who makes the clubs so long as they keep working well.

Almost all Callaway. I like my putter so much it would be hard to change. I would have poo poo'd the thought of playing Callaway equipment a year ago. But over the last 6 months, they have built a solid line-up and have clubs to fit anyone whether good or bad. I like my stuff to match somewhat so it's an easier transition between clubs. I'm not against playing other brand stuff if it clearly works better for me.

All the clubs in my bag are Nike with exception of my putter (Newport 2). I don't really understand what my obsession with Nike is but it started as a kid. It's not just my golf equipment either. All my athletic equipment from running shoes, shirts (golf and T's), shorts, socks, and hats have always been Nike. Even my football cleats and receiver gloves were Nike when I played in college. I'll be honest too, some of the worst sports equipment I've bought has been Nike, but yet I still stay loyal and I have no idea why.

I tried and got as close as just needing a fairway wood and a hybrid. Oh well.

 

I very happy with what I have now though...at least this year.

I am currently carrying all Callaway. I have always loved Callaway woods and finally they made an iron I like as well. Wedges are nice also.

I started assembling my current set-up before I was even aware of this fantastic GolfWRX website. I have had 3 full sets of Cleveland, 1 full set of Mizuno, & 1 full set of Nike in the past. I hadn't really considered Taylormade in the past. Personally didn't care for some of their earlier offerings, plus I was most likely "into" whatever I was gaming at the time. I love my current set-up. All bought off eBay, except for Hybrid ( bought at Home Course ) & Putter...bought locally then sent to Slighter for refinish. I just don't get all the HATE for Taylormade by some members on this site ( *It must be mostly because of all the new stuff they put out so often* )...I went for what I felt would work best for my game, not just the supposed "latest & greatest"......whatever people......it's just a name, and no one's forcing you buy any of their product. I think you should game whatever you believe will make this great game easiest for you. Really, at the end of the day...who cares what it says on the bottom of your clubs. I certainly don't.........Phil. :friends:

I'll try anyone's stuff (except TM - bad service experiences), and I am open to all the new technology stories. I'll play the stuff that gives me the lowest scores. For me, the Titleist products just translate into lower scores most of the time. As a result of that, I give their gear my first look and the closest look. They've earned it.

I am brand loyal to only the clubs that I hit the best. However, I like Callaway as a brand the most. Not sure why.
