Isn't the TS for tighter lies?
[/quote]

WS = Wide Sole 12* bounce
SS = Standard Sole 10* bounce
TS = Tight Sole 6* bounce
ES = Eye Sole 8* bounce (this sole/grind is similar to the original EYE2 wedges)

The TS has less bounce than the ES, but IMO the ES is more versatile than any of the other grinds. Just about any shot can be manufactured with the ES, and the ES is just deadly out of sand bunkers.

The ES is a solid all round wedge and can be used on just about any type of ground surface. The only people that my not like the ES sole is because they are VERY steep with their swing.

Steep swingers will most likely gravitate towards the WS sole.

When ever possible try to hit these wedges outdoors in various conditions to see what you personally like the best.

I'm very interested in a 58* ES but can't try it on grass and am worried about digging as that is the reason I am ditching my SCOR's, and that also seems to be the chief complaint with the ES

Would be a good idea to get a 56* ES and bend it to 58*? Because they both have 8* bounce stock, so then it would have 10*. Or would this mess up how the sole grind is meant to work?

The ES plays much higher bounce than the 8* indicated above.

ES can dig. Have to be a little more conscious of it, but it's not a terrible digger. I use for everything. It's so amazing in the sand, I wish I would've bought one sooner.

There is a high correlation between people that whine and moan about it being The Open and not the British Open and those who refer to the first major of the year as the US Masters

Those are effective bounce numbers. The TS actually has like 14 degrees but a very narrow sole withe that grind. The grind makes much more difference than the actual bounce number.

Agree with your comments though. ES is very versatile. And I love the profile at address.

I believe the TS has 20 degrees of bounce.

I play the 56 bent to 55-standard sole

And the 60 bent to 59- eye sole.

I've demoed many wedges, played clevelands for years. But, these are the easiest and most versatile I've found. From a tight lie I use the 60(59) with a square face and favor the toe a touch. Heel digs, toe cuts. But the bounce and leading edge are terrific. I play here in lower Bama with tight, and often wet conditions and these babies perform. The eye sole, IMO, is really made more for bunker play. I've told many of my fellow players that the eye sole is a great advantage from the bunkers...may as well have ball in hand!

But again, from tight lies- try that 58-60* with a square face, favor the toe, a perpendicular shaft at impact, long arms and soft hands. Takes about thirty minutes to learn it but a deadly shot with that wedge, sole and bounce. Good luck!!

I played on a course last week with dry, hard fairways. I was able to open it and hit shots off some tight lies with ease.

Bringing this thread back from the dead.....

I just purchased a Ping Glide 2.0 56* ES today.

Hoping it will be versatile for me as claimed by others.

I'm replacing my Cally PM 58*

Please post your feedback! I just got a 50 in the ss but want to get a 54 and a 58 in es... very intrigued. Everyone I've talked to or read comments from rants about how good the es is.

My fitter ordered both my wedges in SS sole. The other soles were not even discussed. I wish had known about the ES sole ... shame on me.

I'm currently looking at getting a set of glide wedges - 50ss, 56 (bent to 55 - not sure what sole grind yet), and 60ts. I'm really intrigued by the new ES grind but i'm not sure how it will work on really tight lies. I play the majority of my golf on Links courses in the east of Scotland where we get really tight lies and rock hard fairways. I haven't actually seen the ES grind in the flesh yet, but I think it might sit quite similar to the PM grind in the MD 2's. My only worry with that is that I think the leading edge might sit a little bit too high, so maybe I'd be better going for the SS grind in the 56 as well as the 50? If anyone has any ideas on this, it would be great to hear.

Thanks.

Brother get the Es sole and never look back. Tight lies, thick rough, bare lies it doesn't matter!!! Es handles them all like a champ!!!! If you can't chip with this wedge you should quit golf and buy a bowling ball!!!

Best wedge I've ever hit hands down and I've hit them all!!

Couldn't agree more. I recently had a hardpan tight lie shot over a bunker, swing as hard as I could and flopped it perfectly. Most versatile wedges I've ever owned.

Well I've probably commented on the glide 2.0 in other section. Was not a fan of them for the first rounds I had with them. I tried selling them and couldn't get close to anything I wanted. I said screw it and played nine with them and I have to say they were solid and won't sell them and I guess it was just me. Ha.

I have the 56 es and 60 es.

I play the ie1 irons and G25 hybrid.
