I love the game of golf, way more than any of my friends do. This is why i joined WRX to help get my golf fix and talk golf with people when my buddies back here dont want too. But what if there was some sort of app or program that WRX had on this website where we could post our scores and stats of each round and our fellow WRX'ers can follow along and even have like a leaderboard of best handicaps or something, just like a tour of WRX golfers. I currently use the app The Grint and love it, but i only have like 4 friends that use it consistently. I think it would be really cool if we had a WRX app like the grint just for us. You can follow you favorite WRX members and keep up on how they are doing and maybe compete against each other somehow. I dont know, just a thought that would be pretty cool. I just wanted to vent my idea. I dont know if this would even be possible, but a man can think haha

I also use the grint but I don't have any friends that use it.

I thought my HI would be different if I used oobgolf because the grint does not include 9 hole rounds in your HI. I added what amounted to my last 20 full rounds into oobgolf and my HI was just as sad so I'll just be using the grint from now on.

I guess I'm glad I don't have any friends that use it. This way they don't have to look at the carnage in black and white figures. Just watch it happen live on course.

i don't know about other handicap systems but the grint only updates on the 1st and 15th i beleive. i've played some of the best 4 rounds of my life the last 2 weeks and was a 9.2 i can't wait to see what it says on the 1st. also how accurate is it? i'm a little hisitant to introduce myself as a 9 cap. i know thats right around where i think i am but don't know what to say haha

Yeah, i feel ya. I tried to get my friends into the Grint, so they all downloaded it but never actually put their scores in. I just love how it keeps track of my stats and i can see where and when and what my friends have shot. The only ones that use it, i dont get to play with them as often, so its nice to get updates of how they are doing. And thats why i feel it would be cool if WRX had their own one because then you can put your stats in, and see where you rank in every aspect of the game compared to all the other WRX'ers.

I have no idea how accurate it is, but i just though it would be cool because you know how the Grint ranks you compared to your friends, it would be really cool to see how we rank against fellow WRX'ers. But dont worry, i am around a 9 at an 8.8, but not happy with it either haha

Vsteel, the Grint is VERY Accurate! All handicap systems revise or update your handicap on the 1st & 15th. You can always look up your stats on your phone app under "trending handicap" to give you an idea of what you handicap would be if it would update at that time. Also, you can access the Grint web page app and look at your handicap trend for the current day to give you the same info. If you have 20 rounds logged and you always try your best without a bunch of mulligans, then it's very accurate. Hope this helps!

I like the premise but if you had GIR, Driving distance, Hole proximity and Putting average on there too then you open up a whole world of possibilities for the WRX "long drivers" you know the guys with a 105mph swing speed in reality but claim 130 and hit it 350 on average

Not saying we don't have bombers on here but a lot sounds like BS

On the other hand a handicap tracking spreadsheet with different countries, top 50 from each country and so forth would be pretty cool

Haha, I couldnt agree with you more about the bombers on here. But yeah, i dont really have an accurate way of figuring out my driving distance and everything, but it would be super cool to see the top WRX'ers in GIR, FIR, Putts per round, putts per hole, Putts per hole when you hit a GIR, handicaps, and then for the people that can accurately determine distance, driving distance and hole proximity and stuff. But people could very easily cheat on that too. But yeah a spreadsheet from different countries would be cool, like top players from each country and top players in the world, and top players of the week and top players of the month and stuff like that. What comes to mind when i think of this is like Streak for the cash on ESPN. I dont know if you have ever played it or what, but you can look at all these stats like this. Which also brings another idea to mind that what if the grint made a feature where you could join different groups. Like your main feed has all your friends and stuff on there and you could see how you rank, but then you could join a group, like an WRX group and see how you rank and have a feed for all the golfers on there and see whos on tops and weekly leaders and stuff like that.

Thats another cool idea too! People can see your stats in your signature and recent rounds. Thats pretty cool. I did see one guy link his game golf profile in his signature so you can check out his stats and stuff.

Hey all, I just started using theGrint yesterday, although I haven't actually used it to log a live round yet because I won't be playing until this weekend. I fell in love with it adding my previous twenty rounds on the website after creating an account so I signed up for the Pro Version. I came from using Golfshot Pro for the past three years so I'm pretty anxious and excited to see how good this app is for logging an actual round and how accurate the GPS is. I've already got the gist of using the website to add a score which is easy enough after learning what the SS, FS, OD, etc... are. I'm curious about the GPS because it was stated by them that it's accurate up to one yard, which would be outstanding for a mobile phone app. Pair that with my laser range finder and it would be optimal.

My main reason for switching was because of the stats. I like the stats MUCH better than Golfshot. That is where I was truly disappointed w/ Golfshot. After one major update to the iOS version, it's like they just put it by the way side and let it rot. That could be SUCH a great app if they just expanded their statistical points of view. I actually like the more modern view and it's very subtle, which again I find calming. My main gripe that I have so far, was playing around with the GPS, when you zoom in on the green it's SUPER blurry. Not that it matters a whole lot, it's just a minor issue for me.

Anyway, I've taken note of your guys' usernames and will be adding you shortly. I am Robert M Reyes! Hope to be comparable to you guys and your 1337 skeelz, haha.
