It's all relative. I find it difficult to haul my sorry 47yo arse around my flat, short goat track I call a home club. For young fit guys on tour with caddies most courses should be a breeze.

What are you talking about? He's easily a better golfer since leaving Titleist, he's the best golfer in the world. This is what I hate about the Internet.

If he comes back and plays naff, he's a crap golfer. If he comes back, competes or even wins its automatically "Faking his injury, liar, not as good as Tiger (lol)" etc.

He will most likely be playing and most likely has recovered quicker than most for numerous reasons. Age, health, how well conditioned his body and joints are. Plenty of reasons, there are probably very few athletes in the world who would recover quicker than Rory from this injury. He won't go in 100% but he'll be there. Good, too, as golf is boring without him.

Rory has access to the most advanced medical specialists and technology in the world with the sponsors he has. It's not like the only thing he was doing to heal was sit around the house with his leg on a pillow with an ice pack. I'll be rooting for him to win at the PGA.

Why risk your future to play now if he is only 90% healed? Unless the ankle is completely healed he shouldn't play. Obviously he and his doctors are the only people with enough knowledge of his condition to make a call, but it is hard for me to believe he is ready to play after as serious an inujry as it seemed to be. This doesn't seem like something you can tape up, take a big shot of some big pain killer and go out and play like an NFL player. Good luck to him if he decides to play, I hope he doesn't cause himself a lot of damage by trying to play.

i've torn all three before....everybody is different, but i don't think this injury is nearly as bad as some are making it out to be.

If he does that in the tournament, he might be unbeatable. It could save him from pulling wedges and short irons 30 yards long and left, while leaving the rest of his game pretty much intact. Except for a loss of 25 yards off the tee, which he can cope with easily.

I didn't, majors are majors. However I have no desire to watch any non major tournament which doesn't have Rory involved. And I haven't since he's been gone. Not a Speith fan, Sue me, and Tiger playing "well" doesn't really get me excited either.

In fact, I've watched the European Tour a few times and no PGA tour, been a lot more interesting.

Did you have access to top medical technology, the very best doctors and physios etc? He has probably spent the last month in some kind of Oxygen tent with some masaging ice bath for his ankle! Coupled to the fact he is young and extermely fit - I don't think you can compare it with Dave from the office how is 42, overweight and unhealthy who took 6 months to recover from a twisted ankle

I was plagued with ankle injuries in college and there is a big difference between doing a structured workout and walking or running for an extended period of time. Wonder how having his ankle tightly taped to stabilize it while walking would affect the swing?
