He was a disaster before the injury. He missed two cuts in a row and shot an a 79 and an 80 in back to back tournaments. Tiger didn't even do that this year. So, yes, he was a disaster before the injury.

Have you seen Whistling Straits? The course is a 5 mile walk, and hardly any of it is even ground. There's no way his leg is going to feel anywhere near good after a round there, which will certainly affect his performance...that is, even if he tries to play.

So you conveniently forgot the US Open, ie the last round he played when he shot in the mid 60s at a difficult golf course. Or two wins in a few weeks a few months ago. His last 5 events on US soil have been something like two top tens, top 5 and two wins. Real disaster!

I didn't forget. Why would I? That has nothing to do with his disastrous form leading up to the injury. He was awful. He was heading for another Rory slump. The original comment was, "He probably won't skip a beat." My reply was he had better hope he skips a beat. He was downright awful when the injury occurred.

Rory was downright awful before the injury. He was only winning at a 25% clip in 2015.
