switching to lighter shaft, does what to swing weight?

I'm completely in the dark with regards to this type of club building/fitting thing...

Have been playing Vapor Pro Combo set for a while now, really like the heads, but the stock DG Pro shafts are "eh" to me. Not huge fan of the progressive weighting, and so I'm looking to make a change to Modus3 105.

Would the lighter shaft from DG Pro to Modus change swing weight? Enough to feel?

Since I have never been fit, if I was to get fit, and find out I need to play 1/2" shorter, would swingweight be different in terms of feel from current to new? If so, what are my options to keep it the same as it currently is?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but since it pertains to reshafting I figured it fit.

Also, DG s300 list as 130g... would that be uncut weight, or installed weight?

Listed weights by the manufcturer are typically raw shaft weights, not installed weights.

The impact of shaft weight on swing weight is very unpredictable as it is dependent as much on the shaft balance point as it is on the shaft weight. If it does change, whether it's enough to feel will be completely dependent on your particular swing and sensitivities.

Now a change in length will effect the SW but if you haven't been fit for length, then you certainly have not been fit for swing weight either so there is no way to know if the resulting change in SW from the length change would be a problem or not. If you do get fit then it should include getting fit for the SW for a particular shaft at a particular length. Then you'll have the correct specs for the build when it comes time to change the shaft and there will be no guessing.

Depends on the mass concentration with regards to SW, static weight will be increased but SW is dependent on weight location. Central it will have no adverse affect, high in the butt and it will decrease, low in the tip and it will increase.

The Callaway in my sig should have a very low SW due to the light head and shorter shaft at 44.5" but due to the steel tip on the shaft concentrating a lot of the shafts 85g weight near the tip it increases it, I would guess it comes in at D6/7 maybe even into the E's....I'd have to check, all I know is I like it

If the shafts you're looking at have a uniform weighting then they wont effect anything other than static weight
