Let's see what does Phil need?

Hmmm.. how about less threads speculating what Phil needs with close to zero understanding of what he is coping with psoriatic arthritis.

That said if we want to speculate on what might have helped him win more when he was in his absolute prime and not dealing with this condition.. I'm all in, that would be far more interesting anyway in my book.

Those of you that wonder about the arthritis... I have the same condition. I'm five years younger than he is, but for me the symptoms seemed to get much worse between 35 and 40. To be honest, every year it seems worse. If I play two days in a row or hit a couple hundred balls at the range I can definitely feel it the next day. It can't be helping him, that's for sure.

How would fewer threads on what Phil needs [u]help[/u] Phil with his needs ? Doubt he reads much here.

So this thread IS somewhat interesting (to you) then ? If not, maybe you "need" to avoid it ?

It's really tough watching our heroes on the downside of their careers.

Then again, every once in a while they can pull something from the past, get hot at just the right time and pull a "Nicklaus".

Can Phil do it ? I doubt it. His putter, very often one of his greatest strengths, is now one of his more obvious weaknesses. It's way too uncooperative - and the rest of his game has gotten even more erratic.

Maybe he'll win a few more tournaments; but Majors ? Don't think so. And certainly NOT the US Open. Then again, I supposed stranger things [u]have[/u] happened.

As mentioned earlier(?) Father Time is undefeated.

The point was that at this point in his life and career speculation on what would help him is a bit silly but as to when he was more in his prime...that's another thing all together.

Welllllllll, speculation here by all of us hackers probably wouldn't have helped him then or now.

But I don't see what's silly about trying to help him now. He'll still be on the Tour for anudder 5 years, no ? And probably for a few more after that. Wonder if he'll go "Senior" ?

He had the greatest minds available to him and couldn't straighten out his driver enough to be better than he was/is.

I hope one day Phil opens up about the impact of the arthritis - though I suspect he won't. He's never really been that guy.

Shame he's been robbed of his ability to truly give it everything he's got.

Will always be of two minds with Phil - greatly appreciative of what we all got to see, and a little sad that it could have been so much more if only a couple very minor things had gone differently.
