Favorite Golf Conditions

85-95 degrees low wind fast fairways. Receptive greens rolling true somewhere between 10-11. Ideal scoring conditions for me

My favorite is when it is cool at the beginning of a round, wearing a SS shirt with pullover, and warms up to just short sleeve weather. One of the most fun rounds I have played though was a breezy day of about 40 degrees with a light drizzle to begin with. I was the only one to play all day. Walked 18 holes and stopped for lunch. Went back out and walked 9 more for good measure! Hit the ball well, never had to wait and did not get hot!

55-60 degrees and sunny with no wind. I also love fall mornings that are cool and crisp as well.

That said I like golf anytime as long as it isn't raining, nothing worse than golfing in the rain. After the rain when the course is clear is fine by me though, love heading out to the course after a storm passes through and get a very quick 9 or 18 holes in.

Late September or early October on a mild, sunny and windless day. The colours are spectacular, the grass is perfect, the juniors are back to school and most of the recreational golfers have put their clubs away for another season.

Fall golf. 65-70 with a mix of sun and clouds and a light breeze.

No rain...I absolutely hate playing in the rain. I'd rather play in sub 50 deg weather.

Summer, about 72* and overcast, little or no wind. Easy on the eyes.

I Love Sept/Oct golf when it's dry, cool (60's) and a clear evening, turning leaves, setting sun at my back walking the last few holes of the day.

(I do NOT like the low sun in my eyes early morning/evening)

Same here. I hit the ball very low and have never been affected by the wind until today when i was practicing on my ball flights and was working it higher in the wind. Low ball flight is definitely an advantage that i love.

I like wind. I dont care how hot it is as long as there is a nice breeze. A strong breeze or actual wind I also enjoy. I dont know why I do considering I suck at golf and wind makes it worse but I like the added variance the wind gives. Mixes it up a bit I guess.

I love the challenge of a firm course with fast greens and about 10-15 mph of wind. I certainly don't score best in those conditions. My best few rounds have been where the course was soft and the greens were medium speed. My club has a lot of scratch to 3 handicap guys who play a different game than me. They are precision players who don't carry it very far and struggle when the course is wet. I've won two gross stroke play events (single day) at my club and they were both on a wet course. I get crushed by these same guys when the fairways are rolling.

Yep, I have 3 fellas I play with quite a bit that I pretty much have no chance against when they're getting rollout. I think they're all better than me but 2 of them carry a higher hcp ... To be honest I'd rather play a firm course with fast greens even with these guys and even though I putt like a slug.

I like any condition when my driver is dialed in; last Friday it was 208 degrees and humid in Minny and I hit 16 greens. I will now think 208 is nice because I did something I've never done before.

Seriously, I love fall golf in Minny (approx. 2.5 weeks long); I love March - May in lower AL and November in Vagas. 70 and overcast preferred

I think the reason for this is because the course is wet and i can take dead aim at the pin from where ever i am at without being afraid of a rollout over the green. Dont get me wrong, i love the beautiful days with sun and birds chirping, but i always seem to play my best golf in the rain.

Anything over 65 degrees with a slight breeze. I do not like to play with long sleeves on. As far as the golf course is concerned, I like firm and fast conditions

I'm that guy who will play in nearly any conditions, and very nearly went back out to finish up the last six holes of a tournament a couple of weeks back during a torrential downpour before the marshall pulled us off the tee box...

Favorite conditions would have to be 75-80, and overcast with maybe just a very light breeze, but no rain in the forecast. We should be getting a good number of these days in the coming weeks with Sept/Oct on the horizon.

Anything above 40 and below 55 is ideal in Houston. Walk the course in two hours because everyone is still bundled up inside escaping the "frigid" weather.

For tournament golf, the crappier the better. Cold, rainy, windy. Blistering fast greens. It eliminates about 90% of the field that doesn't want to be there.

For recreational golf, 80 degrees, 15 mph winds and sunny.

For golf with my wife, 70 degrees, calm and partly cloudy.

Late afternoon early evening after everyone is clearing out and you've closed the shop...snag a cart from the barn and tell the cart barn kid to call you when the last one comes in. It's cooled down a bit and you keep playing until you can't see, make the kid in the barn wait a bit if you have to.

I remember those days. More than once I told the cart guy that if I was the last guy out to close the gate and take off. I'd finish closing it all up when I got in.
