Haven't done many bigger trips, ours are usually just one day, two course trips.

Probably around 2011, can't remember for sure was my biggest trip. Pebble Beach, Bayonet/Blackhorse, Poppy Hills, Pacific Grove, and Pasatiempo.

2013 I think was Palm Springs: PGA West Nicklaus and Norman courses, and LaQuinta Mountain and Dunes

2014 Mesquite/St George: Wolf Creek, Conestoga, Falcon Ridge, Coyote Springs, Sand Hollow and Coral Canyon

2015 Denver/Fort Collins: Collindale, Riverdale Dunes, and Green Valley Ranch

Some of our day trips include Rapid City, SD (Hart Ranch and Meadowbrook), Cheyenne, WY (Airport Course) and Loveland, Co (Mariana Butte), Hot Springs, SD (Southern HIlls?) and Crawford, NE and Gothenburg, NE (Wildhorse) and Ogallala, NE (Bayside). Most of our day trips max out at about a 200 mile trip (one way) and two rounds and then home. To be honest as we've gotten older we don't do those as much.

[/quote]Glad to see Hammock and Palencia on that list. Palencia is one of my favorite Jacksonville courses and Hammock is the one resort I can take the family with other golf family friends and my wife will say "Ohh you guys are already back?"

Gdane, Chicago is a very good spot for short trips via car on long holiday weekends. In addition, with Southwest Airlines offering to fly your bags for "free", there are plenty of places doable on a long winter weekend. To keep my sanity during the winter, I try to get away in December, January (MLK weekend), February (Presidents Day weekend), and sometimes March (depending on our local weather). Memorial Day is a chance to get away for a long weekend in the Midwest.

My bucket list is to play in all fifty states. Hawaii and Alaska all western states are outta the way. Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania,Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Monte Carlo and Rome. This turning out to be an under taking. I might rent a R V, throw the clubs and little woman in and go

Arg, you could easily do Ireland as a single. There is a B&B on almost every corner and you could book tee times as easily as you do here. Throw in the overwhelming friendliness of the Irish people, you'd have a great trip.

Arg, you could easily do Ireland as a single. There is a B&B on almost every corner and you could book tee times as easily as you do here. Throw in the overwhelming friendliness of the Irish people, you'd have a great trip.

Sounds like a lot of work, though. Last week I booked 8 rounds of golf and 4 different hotels in Indiana and Ohio, and it was a PITA. Transportation between places would also be an added wrinkle. I'm curious if there are travel agents that specialize in this type of booking. I'd love to simply give them a list of courses I'd like to play, and then have them set up the rounds, rooms, and transportation.

I think the main issue with a trip to Ireland is that I don't care for Guinness. In the world of stouts, it's Budweiser.

Lol. No, I didn't mean I like Budweiser. I meant that Guinness is a pretty bad stout. I'm sure there are better stouts over there that aren't imported to the U.S.

Tried to make it happen, but no luck. Played there once years ago and that is likely the only time. Very special place. I am certainly not complaining, this maybe the best year I ever have from a golf course standpoint.

Probably around 2011, can't remember for sure was my biggest trip. Pebble Beach, Bayonet/Blackhorse, Poppy Hills, Pacific Grove, and Pasatiempo.

2013 I think was Palm Springs: PGA West Nicklaus and Norman courses, and LaQuinta Mountain and Dunes

2014 Mesquite/St George: Wolf Creek, Conestoga, Falcon Ridge, Coyote Springs, Sand Hollow and Coral Canyon

2015 Denver/Fort Collins: Collindale, Riverdale Dunes, and Green Valley Ranch

Some of our day trips include Rapid City, SD (Hart Ranch and Meadowbrook), Cheyenne, WY (Airport Course) and Loveland, Co (Mariana Butte), Hot Springs, SD (Southern HIlls?) and Crawford, NE and Gothenburg, NE (Wildhorse) and Ogallala, NE (Bayside). Most of our day trips max out at about a 200 mile trip (one way) and two rounds and then home. To be honest as we've gotten older we don't do those as much.

I'm jealous you can play The Prairie Club and Dismal River as an "Overnighter" - the Sand Hills of Nebraska is such an under-appreciated golf destination to the weekend warrior; if only more avid golfers with disposable income knew how unbelievable the topography and course designs there are! Even on trips to Streamsong, Bandon, etc. where these people frequent, nobody seems to know anything about The Prairie Club.

This has been a good year for trips so far, including Gulf Shores (AL), Streamsong, Bandon and a few more local ones. Hoping to get to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi next year for Fallen Oak, etc.

They are as good as they look. Dormie is one of the better courses I have played. I have never played a course like like Tobacco Road. One of the most fun experiences playing golf I have ever had
