Nippon 1150GH Tour Stiff Or X Flex

Did a recent fitting. Really wanting to pick up the new Mizuno MP5 irons. Tested both 25 and 5 and I hit the 5 model better and both had the same distance. Dispersion was amazing with the Nippon shaft and I was about 2-4 yards longer with them.

The shaft that fit best in both heads was the Nippon 1150GH Tour but they only have STIFF to test. The fitter felt I might need to go with X Flex soft step once since club head speed was around 86-87 MPH but I was launching them higher then I should. Spin was pretty much a match. OR bend the lofts to low launch angle was the other option....Not sure I want to bend them a few degrees honestly on loft.

Mizuno informed me they don't have the X flex and said to go Stiff Hard step once should work. Having never played Nippon before are they soft to flex? Current gamers are S300 shafts (AP2's)

Any feedback would help.

Wouldnt say they are soft to flex. They are really smooth and that series of shafts are lighter weight than s300's by noticable margin.
Dont always advise what a fitter says. If the ball flight looks good and you like the feel go for it. Numbers aren't everything.

Mizuno fitters push for what they have in stock or is available. They don't have the Modus line at all. Do yourself a favor and test out some other OEM's that have Modus shafts to try and see which shaft you like better. I wish Mizuno would offer current products to people.

I did try all the Mizuno shafts and of them the 1150 felt the best and dispersion was well beyond what I get with my S300's. I knew they about 10 grams less so I figured that might be something I need to get used too.

I will see if I can test the Modus as that is interesting to me.

Are you posting this to say you did not like them? or selling them? Sorry not sure on the meaning of the post.

BUT since you have X Flex I am wondering why you pulled them and for what? Was there a reason you did not like them?

Go with what u hit best. if its the 1150's get em. They are light you dont have swing harder... golf is about finesse. I prefer a 120 gram shaft because it keeps me on plain but still dont need to swing crazy to get them do dance. I think s300 is too much even tho it isnt much diffrent from my kbs in weight but i can tell with feel.

I loved them but got tendinitis and moved to heavy x graphite shafts
