Speith...Where does he go from here? New club endorsement?

So he's done it...5 wins, 2 majors and the Fed Ex Cup all wrapped up in a nice neat package. Does he stay with Titleist? Obviously his endorsement contract with Under Armor complicates who will go after him but with rumors abounding about DJ and Jason Day leave TMAG next year (heard recently from a TM rep that they are both off to Cobra/Puma next year) who will try to lure Jordan away next year? Thoughts anyone?

There's been a few threads already about his endorsement contract. Yes several golfers have left Titliest, however a differentiator for Spieth is his Under Armour deal. UA doesn't make clubs but does make apparel. Other OEMs would want an apparel deal too (Nike specifically) so that would mean he couldn't stay with Under Armour, who by the way has very deep pockets and i imagine is making a mint on apparel, and has also locked Spieth up to a multi-year deal

Spieth has a great deal. UA can afford to pay him a ton, and he can decide to take less for clubs due to that.

So what will he do? Probably stay with Titliest, UA...and go home and hang out with his hot-twenty-something girlfriend

Any validity to the rumor of Day and DJ both going to Cobra?

1. Spieth isn't going to make any significant changes as opposed to popular belief, I'd almost put money on it.

2. Jason Day is one of the last people I can see gaming Cobra equipment.

IF he goes anywhere, he would be crazy to change putters.

So, I see him staying with Titleist for quite awhile.

This is at least the 4th thread on Spieth changing clubs. Why do so many on this board feel he needs to change? There is zero indication he will leave Titleist.

Because he won't. He's making his money from AT&T and Under Armour.

Where is he going from here:

1) He said last week that he wants to continue getting stronger in the gym over the off season and get a little longer off the tee. I think that is a very reasonable goal. At 22, he's not fully developed physically. He said that he was able to keep his weight up this year better than in previous years.

2) From my armchair perspective, he still has some room for improvement in shot making consistency under pressure. He hit a bunch of really bad shots today, and really all week at East Lake. Again, that would be a normal development curve. Most golfers don't really hit their full stride swinging the club until their late 20s.

Why does everyone immediately think he's going to leave the clubs that have gotten him to this point? He's played Titleist for as long as I've remembered and he's had a hell of a run. Stick with what works and don't change. $22 million is no reason to leave anywhere. That's more than pretty much anyone in this thread will make in their life.

Some people look to what the pro's are playing as validation for them buying into club MFG's hype. If Spieth does switch MFG's it turns in a pissing match for those that have for some reason or another developed and alliance to a particular MFG.

For those that think something better does come out every few months they have a tuff time wrapping their mind around why any one would stay with Titleist with their steady 2 year product cycles.

He's got a really good modern strength and conditioning trainer. He said this week that he's done a better job of keeping his weight up. In 2014, he lost 15 pounds over the summer and couldn't wear the Ryder Cup clothes he'd been fitted for.

A lot of really young guys struggle to keep their weight up.

Here's Spieth's gym in Dallas:

Looks like a really good, solid program. I have no doubt that he will get stronger.

I think UA makes a play on Callaway at some point. Until then, he stays with Titleist.
[/quote] UA buys TM, Adidas wants out. The value of the co. will probably be highly dependent on the sucess of the M1. The irony is that if UA waits 3 mere months, sharp discounts will apply.
