Seriously, whether ya disagree with someone or not, to get nasty and personal over a frickin thread in a golf forum?

Why change when you are making a mint? Nike is not the force it was in Golf with Pettersen being as popular as a kick in the nuts, Tiger heading for the commentators booth and Rory not quite firing on all cylinders. I think Jordan is intelligent enough to avod the Nike dollar and stick with Titleist's world class clubs. As for DJ and Day going to Puma. Must be a late April Fool. They have Flower and he suits their bling / trashy image. Cobra is not seen as a players brand and no big name player will amend that. Puma have ruined a company that made some of the finest woods and irons ever.

He's played Titleist since junior golf so I don't see him having any inclination to switching. It's what he knows and likes. He doesn't need the money
That is exactly what I thought about Tiger way back when. Then he moved from Titleist to Nike. I thought for Tiger's game it was a mistake. But, Nike was committed to making him clubs that worked for him. I think in a lot of cases, they did. I'm not completely sure they ever made a driver that truly "worked" for Tiger. Fortunately for him, in his prime he did not really need driver.
They also let him play what he had been playing when they first started, all while being the face of basically a completely new brand. Looking at Tiger's personality, I think they played right to it. I don't see the same thing with Jordan. He started with UA and instead of jumping to a bigger brand he committed to them. I don't know what they are paying him but he seems pretty loyal.

Where is he going from here:

1) He said last week that he wants to continue getting stronger in the gym over the off season and get a little longer off the tee. I think that is a very reasonable goal. At 22, he's not fully developed physically. He said that he was able to keep his weight up this year better than in previous years.

2) From my armchair perspective, he still has some room for improvement in shot making consistency under pressure. He hit a bunch of really bad shots today, and really all week at East Lake. Again, that would be a normal development curve. Most golfers don't really hit their full stride swinging the club until their late 20s.

The gym?

Uh, oh...
Not to worry - he says he only wants to look like a free safety.

Stay the course Jordan, stay the course.

Keep that putter in the bag and don't go change'in.

The only think I would change if I were him were my grips, like once or twice a year.

He keeps winning majors. He marries a supermodel. Has kids. Keeps winning. Injuries start. Starts cheating on his supermodel wife. She finds out, starts beating him with his putter because it never misses, he tries to drive off and hits a fire hydrant. He wakes up,screaming from this nightmare and decides he doesn't want to repeat history and he keeps being the guy he's shown us so far.

With a 10yr deal with UA why would anyone even mention him and Nike in the same sentence, unless they are saying how UA is outselling Nike Golf apparel???? If UA wants into the equipment business, how about getting Adams away from TMag??? Talk about a company that could have benefited from the marketing power of

Every post about Spieth switching club companies just sounds dumber and dumber. He INTENTIONALLY didn't take a club deal when he got on tour for a reason. He just had the best season in golf since Tiger in 2000 and you ACTUALLY THINK he's going to change equipment and endanger that? He just got paid crazy money - he doesn't NEED a new endorsement. And if he does he can get it from something other than an equipment company.

He'll switch to the new model of the Titleist irons. He switched to them for the Barclays and switched back, although he didn't think it made much difference.

I don't think he needs the money. I'm sure that he is got a fortune worth of UA stock options at this point. And, a very lucrative car company endorsement is probably on tap for the near future.

I think most here underestimate the pressure athletes/celebrities get to not leave money on the table. Sure he made $20+M on the course this year but why would he leave another $10M sitting around? YOu have a limited time to earn this type of money.

This really isn't an issue about need or greed, just business.

Most people leave one company for another, for the money.

Spite just made $22,000,000 *on* the golf course, in one "season"..... I reckon that's substantially more than anyone else has ever made strictly from playing golf for a year, some even for a career...

Not much incentive to change clubs at this point.

Earning $30M a year and being world #1 is prob a good set of validation criteria to show that the current process has lead to success.

Don't get sucked into the mantra of golfers who are now notably washed up. There is no "always get better" when you're at that top level. You do what Jack did. Get up there and then camp out with the winning formula for as long as you can.

There was a story in one of the major golf publications earlier this year that stated that Jordan had studied the very best players' approaches to the game, so to speak, over the past 25 years or so, and perhaps most specifically, Tiger. JS made the observation that the best players made very few tweaks to their equipment over the years - only when absolutely necessary. He sees this consistency of approach being a major factor to their long-term sustained level of play. I wish I could find the specific piece.

I don't know how many times I've heard members of this site say "its the Indian, not the arrow". You don't think he could play at a high level with any other OEM's clubs? I guarantee he feels he can use any club and be the best. If somebody backs up the money truck, he'll play whatever they want. Yes, $22 million is a lot to us....not to Tiger. Tiger money/career is the standard now.

This may come off as sounding a bit "Hokey" but, I don't see Jordan Spieth as being that kind of a person. He seems to have the values of an older generation and I think loyalty is important to him. Besides, with the way that he played this year with Titleist clubs, what reason could he possibly have for changing? It certainly isn't money! In addition to being a fantastic player, this is what I like about him so much. His life and the way he conducts himself is totally uncluttered!!

The "get better" part comes naturally with experience. Learning the courses better. Learning to deal with pressure better. Learning how to post a score when the swing is not there. And so on and so forth. I mean, all things being equal, a golfer will be better at 28 than at 22, if the swing stays the same.

I expect that Jordan will get a bit longer as his body matures and gets stronger. I expect him to slowly get his swing to hold up a little more consistently under pressure, just because his intelligent approach will lead him to figure out how to cure that big "holy right" miss.

I think it will be numbers driven. He and his coach will track the weaknesses statistically and focus on those areas each off-season.

He's pretty darn good right now. It would be stupid to make major changes.
