What putter are good for this stroke ?

Based on the chart you listed you have a mid arc face rotaion, so something with quarter hang or slighty more would be good. That swing path though.........

I would love to hear any thoughts on my stroke also. My fitter didnt say much.

Face balanced - full offset. Based on the length of your back swing this is a low rotation stroke. The question you always want to ask " Does my rotation match what is required by my stroke plane / path or do I manipulate the face rotation to match the straight target line.

Are you trying to swing the putter sbst?

Do you control your stroke with your hands or your shoulders?

Is your predominate miss to the right? Or is the up and out motion in your follow through an attempt to keep the ball from going left? You stroke path shows evidence of a player who shuts the face on the back swing and then counters the shut face by shifting the path to the right. Your averages show a face 2.0 degrees shut to a path 1.6 right of the target line.

Famous players who used this square to the target - shut to the path stroke are Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Bobby Locke, Horton Smith (he wrote a book) and others.

Note- These players all used full toe hang blades, as face balanced putters were a rare option in their day. Face balanced by definition is designed to be low rotation and we find it to be a better match.

I dont try to swing sbst, shoulders turn, my miss normaly right, but strangely enough I missed left at the fitting cause I lined up little left for some reason.

I was fit for slight toe hang... Would a sbst stroke work with that kind of putter ?

I used 8802 for the hole season but it just hasn't happens so I'm letting go of that style.

But would a mid Mallet with plumbers neck or no offset also fit with toe hang?

I would still suggest minimal toe hang and full offset. This path indicates an upright stroke plane and requires minimal rotation.

Do you play the ball under your eyes?

Shoulder driven-Do you rock your shoulders or rotate around your spine?

8802 is a high rotation putter that you have paired with a low rotation stroke. (square to your path at the end of your backswing would be around 2 degrees instead of 3 or 4)


Was that the putter you used in your measurement?

Do you carry your hands close to your body? We see this bowl shaped pattern with a lot of low hands players.

BTW the left miss was caused by 2.8 degrees upright and .4 closed at impact.
Another good choice for putters would be one like an Anser 5, at your length and 2 degrees flat.

I'm planning on getting a Byron with specs close to the ptm3 seemore they fit me to. But I am interested in other options..?

If I was you I wouldn't touch a custom putter until you have a better idea what you want. Your asking a lot of questions that a person ready to drop $500-600 shouldn't be asking. If your fit for a minimal toe hang but prefer an odyssey #9 something is a bit off. Try to get a better understanding of the offset you prefer, the weight, and the putter type before pulling the trigger.

You really should ensure your stroke is consistant, then get fit, then drop the cash on a custom.

What would you do if you were me?

Was hoping the fitting would solve all my questions , but infact I feel that I could have bought iping bracket and gotten the same results? Except I did test seemore ptm3 and immediately sunk 8 in a row. There Options were very limited I probably have more putters then them...

As far as figuring out offset I like is not relivant to me as what is best for my stroke? Testing different ones out at pga ss doesn't seem to help as there no control.

Wieghted I don't know how to figure wieght I want?

Should I use iping to mass check swing results?

Also I can't test any putters I want since you won't find them in a store?

I also think that you never know but I might have made slight adjusted to putting at the fitting after the first couple of strokes I missed left. I tried to just swing naturally and aim the same but I dont know.

The odyssey 9 does seem to fit my stroke it seems. It was a suggestion from a golf galaxy guy I asked for a fitting and he really quickly saw my stroke and suggested it.

The basic measurement with PuttLab does not tell you enough to make the decision. For example weight choice is a function of your timing and tempo. It is not listed in the report.

I would not fit you with a putter with any toe hang.

Based on the putters you have posted.....

Look for a Ping Anser 5 Long hosel, full offset, face balanced and then make your stroke without judging the results. See if a pattern of misses occurs. Do not adjust your stroke to fix the miss. The only way you can accurately evaluate a putter is to make consistent strokes and find a consistent miss.

For a stroke that runs with a minimal arc and inside out like yours and face balanced and offset = a right miss, then more toe hang might help.

Every stroke has a rotational requirement to keep the putter consistent to the path. Every putter has a rotational value. When you evaluate it helps to match them up to start and then modify as you need.

If you like that lajosi or byron I'm sure they would be able to accommodate a long plumb neck, or something similar that would accomplish the offset/toehang that you need.

I keep it pretty simple inside my head. I just think "it's all in the lats" to keep it all smooth and only using the big muscles.
