Fairway wood rotation?

so an update on my fairway rotation and hopefully end of said rotation.. I have been playing with the 915F and FD for a while I bought a new FD when they 1st came out ... and really did not get along with it ...It was a 13 degree head and really just went to far... any offline shot was off the planet... and it was literally too long to ever hit into a par 5.... I don't have many 600 plus yard par 5s... so I traded it on a 915F 15..... and liked it but still had a severe draw bias.... and still really too long... I could have used its length but left a huge gap to 3 iron.... So finally settled on a 5 wood head...why? so I could turn it wide open and upright lie ....this makes the loft approx. 16.5 .... playing it with the stock 80 gram whiteboard this combo was good...even great... BUT always the tinkerer I wanted perfect.... Fially decided to pull the Graphite design purple ice 85X from my old 910F and put it into the 915F 18.... and WOW! really is a superb club now... so smooth , yet tight dispersion... plays longer than any 4 wood ive ever owned... but launches nice and high and then just keeps flying... Really the best fairway off the deck I have ever hit..and I have hit them all! I find the 915 series of fairways and drivers a bit of a mystery.. IF you hit on the right combo of loft and shaft they are great! But ive gone through a lot of trial and error to get there... and i hated all the other versions I tried...

I wondered if anyone else here has played the purple ice shaft? To me it plays like a ad di with a stronger tip.... which for me is what I want in any shaft...

AB TP is "the" 3 wood but my CB4 is on stand by if the AB gets unruly.

I also like to take the classic 07 TP out one in awhile. I love that thing but I'm not consistent (good) enough of a ball striker to play it. It also doesn't give me my preferred ball flight and I lose carry compared to the other two.

Played the Purple Ice 85x in a 16* Sonartec SS07 years ago, was a very solid combination, until.....broken clip on a bag strap at a resort course lead to its early demise I also played the PM902 and YS9.1 in clubs years ago, a lot of older GDI shafts were especially good in heavier weights, yet were a bit "finicky" to dial in regarding tipping.
Know quite a few tour players hoarded the Purple Ice 85X in both original paint scheme and a later YSQ scheme.

gotcha..... I had never hit the shaft until one day the assistant pro came in with a stash of leftover tour clubs from a then web.com guy who I don't want to name here..(they had gone to school together and he gets stuff from time to time from him ).... the 910F /purple ice were with the lot as well as several drivers with 100G plus diamana shafts etc.... really weird and cool stuff... I got to hit some of them and one shot with that 3 wood and I wanted it ... I ended up talking it out of his hands... and now its even better in the newer head.... I have no idea of tipping etc... just that its really smooth , yet I cant overpower it...if I go at it hard it just feels like it kicks harder....

757S and an RIP Sigma 73S.

Absolutely love the 757 but the Sigma is a made-for TEE shaft and might be a little weak to flex for some stronger swings. I think it's higher launch then the Beta. The CB4 Tour head is a cannon though, I've caught it really good several times and it went around 260. Great feeling head to. Put the 757S, Blueboard 73,DI7S,etc. in her and I bet I could make it even better. My AB TP 3HL is just a high launching, long hitting monster paired with the 757. Now, I also have the driver with a DI6S which I like but feel could be better. (lack of dispersion). I'm thinking of pulling the DI6 and throwing in a 661 since I love the 757.

Both 3 woods are the best of best....can't go wrong with either. The AB TP will be known as a member of the "Top Ten" best fairway woods in the future (along side to the CB4, 07TP,Tour 300,Xhot Pro,etc.)

Well....was intending to play in a fun event sponsored by Oakley and unfortunately, that thing called work got in the way, so no go on that and slightly tweaked left knee on top of that while conducting some training. Less than a month left here on Oahu, so looks like no more golf so can protect knee, really would not be fun to be on flight back to NC with sore knee. Point being, plan to ship gear back soon, when back in NC, will have a few more options for fairway slot to complicate, or maybe simplify, bag set up. Unless something changes drastically in game due to lay off, 200 tour will remain in bag and 2 iron/5 wood slot will in all probability, be the next "rotation" to be decided upon, if needed.

Brief update- As I posted elsewhere, knee is back in solid and stable condition. Appears that 18* deepface King Cobra with HM40 will replace 2 iron in starting line-up when back in NC. I figure with current conditions back in southeast, 2 iron may not see favorable conditions for use in near future.

Hard to let go a fairway wood that works but an old Callaway Steehead Plus 4+ that I had in the bag snapped off when I hit if off the tee and the club head flew into a deep pond, duh.
Recently I chanced upon a brand new Nike VRS 3 wood that was new old stock at a bargain USD 40.
Never played with a Nike FW before and at the price I figured there was nothing to lose.
The shop owner didn't even know he had one last piece and didn't even have the head cover to boot.
I'm getting the hang of it. Easy to hit and nice high ball flight. Lucky to have found something that works straight away.
