Except for some real official important stuff, handshaking needs phasing out. I have to wash hands sometimes 6 times in 10 minutes at my club when people keep coming.

It's the off-season (someone should tell the PGA Tour) and there's not much going on. I full expect many threads to devolve right down to the "Trump" level.

The fact of the matter is, that this is still a GENTLEMEN'S game and removing your hat and shaking hands at the end of the round is a sign of respect and keeping with the TRADITIONS of the game. If you are such a germaphobe that you cannot shake hands after someone running their hands through their hair then don't, but think of all the things you touch during a round of golf.... dirt, sand, wet towel, grass, etc etc. It is all about respecting the game. I dare you to go to Arnie's place and leave your hat on 100% of the time, you will kindly be asked to leave. Same principle. I'm guessing those of you who don't want to remove your hat after play to shake hands also play with your shirt untucked and possibly in denim. Just saying....
