It looks like Na is now ranked 19th in the World, one place above "Top 5". Aphibarnrat is now ranked 41st. They keep this up, I will refine my definition of 2nd Tier. They are both ranked ahead of quite a few "name players". I can see Aphibarnrat making the top twenty before he is 30.

When I read this title of this thread, my first thought was that it was journeymen pro's that the OP was going to refer to! That seemed to disappear when major winners started being mentioned (although I guess there are some notable exceptions to that...hello Todd Hamilton and Shaun Micheel).

Anyway, I'm hoping that he will bag a win or two soon but I love to root for Russell Knox. He played in some of the same junior competitions as me when I was a kid. I never said more than a few words to him but having a guy from 20 odd miles away playing and making a good living on the PGA Tour is pretty neat, if he went on to win that would be awesome.

Kevin Na. He's such a basket case with his swing yips and taking a 13 on a hole, but then occasionally shoots very low numbers, how can you not root for him?

I've been fortunate enough to have met a lot of tour players over the years, and I'd say 95% of them come off as very nice guys. Most have been very gracious with their time and seem to be very appreciative of the opportunities they have. Hard not to root for a guy once you've had to chance to talk to them a bit and learn more about them. That being said, one "second tier" player that stood out was Nick Taylor. Just as humble, polite, and unassuming as you can get. I find myself going out of the way to check on how he's doing each week.

[/quote]I believe it was 16, at San Antonio. But I am with you on Na. He looks like a basket case mentally but has fought through it and is top 20 in the world. Sometimes seems like as often as he contends he should win more often but when you look at the whole body of work he really seems an overachiever on tour.
