titleist pulls into ping irons

Looking at Ebay at a set of pulls from a Titleist iron set for my Ping G25's. My current shafts are only 1" to 1 1/8" deep into the hosel, because of the curved hosel design. Anyone have success polishing the stainless back to its original luster in case the shaft prep is exposed? Its not like I can add a ferrule either is it. I do plan on soft stepping, so I could tip them a quarter i suppose, shouldnt affect performance to much?

There is no reasonable way to hid shaft prep above the hosel. For that reason it's really hard to find suitable pulls to use in ferruleless Pings, unless they came from ferruleless Pings.

Agree with Nessism above. The only alternative I can think of is that If you bore the Ping hossels out to .370, then you could likely tip enough to hide the prep area. Will it effect performance? Potentially yes. Depends on how much you have to tip and how sensitive you might be to the changes. Generally 1/4" would not be noticeable and even if it's a full 1/2" (equivalent to a hard step) that is pretty subtle for most and you could do an actual soft step to compensate fairly well.

I would steal a bottle of the wife or daughter's nailpolish and just color the exposed shaft prep. It will wear off in time, but that's a fairly long time and nailpolish is cheap and they will probably forget and drop their guard and you can steal a different color.

The nail polish comes off with acetone so you better steal some too.

Another complication is that the G25's need longer than typical shafts because the Bottom of Bore To Ground (BOBTG) dimension is small. Most pulls are too short unless the shafts came out of a set of clubs built over length.

You can use black heat shrink electrical cable tube, This will protect the surface. There are two sorts. Some have an inner glue and some don't I found the one with glue the best. You can get other colours if you are so inclined. I used this with some i10's and DG S300 pulls. Sorry no photos.

Any electrical supply shop should have this stuff.

You can also hide it by giving the shafts a satin look. Chuck up the shaft tip in a drill and run it with some emery cloth over the exposed prep. You can fade it out or do the whole shaft with progressively finer emery and/or a scotchbrite red/grey pad. Its a little time consuming but an option if you like to tinker or have more time than money.
