Blade Hunters Mechanics tool Bag *******update after extensive overhaul******

So much to love in your bag. I'm pleased to see that the GSS made its way into a player's bag that will appreciate it. One of my favourite Lamont creations. Good luck in your Sugar Skulls search. I was one of the last to receive the cover and it's spectacular.

Neat of course all of your stuff is first class. I was curious do those punch marks on the weights tell how many grams the weight is?

good eye Stu.... I think that is the case....but im not sure.... I have that question in to lamont now....

They just tell you if the weight goes in the toe or heel as they are rounded off to match the sole

Thanks jake ! I see that now. Didn't realize the weights were sloped to match the sole , good catch !

No problem. I love looking at your WITB. It's a bunch of my old clubs with your added amazingness lol

The flat stick to end all flat sticks arrived today. Gss hand made ( yes handmade as most ma/66 are CNC ) Mann krafted ma/66 with copper insert , damascus welded neck and shaft cup , sound slot , copper plug sight dot , rounded top line , and tons of other hand work. Has a black Accra shaft and 3 different sets of removable sole weights. Copper , stainless and tungsten . I've carpet rolled her and I'm really done. It doesn't get better than this one. This thing is bad. I'm headed off work to the putting green. Pics later tonight !

Lol I do have a nice sugar skull to match it buddie but I don't think its leaving the collection. Some nice yururi/vega wedges and even a nice Akira driver/woods would complete your bag. lol

Thanks ! now all it needs is that limited Sugar skull headcover Lamont released at Halloween....Im still bummed I missed out on that ...Im not a headcover collector but that's the best original design cover I have ever seen ...

This might be your lucky day?!! I have a mint Sugar Skull headcover. I'll gladly swap that for this GSS LaMont putter............. :taunt:

BTW quit your search for the perfect blades already!! Scratch DW grinds will do that! Hahaha

Great additions to your bag my friend. Well played! ;)

You really know how to get to a club addicts heart strings. Lol. It's very tempting to say the least. Sticking them inside that sugar skull cover might put me over the top ! ??

Update time! If you've followed my club ramblings you remember that The Tour issue set of Titleist 680 MB I found were sent off to the USGA Lab for groove conformity testing . The retail 680 is included on the conforming list , but because this set is unstamped where the 680 would be on a retail head they don't automatically conform for lack of identification... Sooo... they had to be sent in to be certified for use in any USGA event.... well ..they were gone for a while.... I did get confirmation from the USGA tester that they all passed ( some have had 1 or 2 irons from a set fail before) ..But I didn't have them back in hand until today... I thought I would post the official certificate letter that goes with the test.... I would also like to say that the testing lab is a pleasure to deal with... you get a phone number to talk directly to the tester as well as his email.. and better than that ...He responds !!LOL anyway here it is in case anyone was curious about what you get to certify the results...

So sick. I just picked up my third set of of 690s. Had an offer for some 680s, and almost grabbed those too. Best era for blades in my opinion.

^^^ Will they make the bag over the Miura's?

Strong possibility. Miura is nice. But honestly the 680 is just as good.and raw is awesome but does get tiresome to care for. Clean, oil wipe after every practice or round. And that's almost every day. Miuras probably hold more value so can be converted to something else. Plus honestly I'm not really a look at me guy . I know that may seem counterintuitive. But I don't want the whole " he paid $xxxxx for his irons attention. The Titleist certainly fly under the radar. Anyway. Haven't decided yet. Just sent entry fees in for 3 tournaments. 1st one in 4 weeks. So a decision will be made shortly.

Fair enough! I'm sure we'll be seeing a head to head comparison soon if the first tournament is 4 weeks away... Interested to see what makes the bag and why!

You know it. Lol. They are very similar so no real adjustment. Shafts won't change. I'm married to the modus 130. I could love a Big Ben - big Bertha knockoff from the 90s on that shaft I think ! 680 has the pre worn leading edge which I'm leaning towards. I really play off hard turf most of the time and that plus a little heel relief always play better. Sort of enter fast exit fast type divots of that makes sense .

962B triple sole grind with that shaft would be quite the combination, just sayin' :-)

Your probably correct ! But those don't seem to grow around me locally. Haven't run across a b set ever.

Still not taken time for pics. But maybe tomorow. Too windy to be out much today. I did however add graphite to the tmb 2 iron and wow! I picked up a Aldila etched tour green 105g Tx hybrid shaft. Sanded the tip to make it fit a 355 taper hosel and out it into the 2 iron. Man it's a cannon that just wants to go straight. Very impressed! Easily my favorite tee club. Pics tomorow if weather permits me to go out after work!

Nope. Nearly zero. Just shipping and you have to include a return shipping label so they can ship back. Testing is free. Just go to the usga website and find the section talking about conforming grooves. There will be a pdf download form and you email that in after filling it out. Then ship to the address it gives. They also list a phone number that will get you straight to the testers themselves. Easy and pain free both times I've done it.

so here it is .... pics to prove the struggle ...errr.... progress is real!... The bar for best iron combo ive ever hit has been raised yet again... These irons are simply the most all around pleasing irons ive hit .. I wont bore you with the gory details of why I love them , but to say they fit me is an understatement... Ive been hiting balls with them for several days and played 9 after work once....this evening finally got out for a real round... I can remember ever having this much control ..shot 71 today and hit 14 greens with .2 par 5s in 2 ...if I had made any putts at all cold have easily been a mid to high 60s round.... in fact the only club in my bag that isn't exactly in control is the putter... and im only speaking of fine tuning ..I have some irons in the fire there too.. The new driver is a Yonex ezone 380 , hotmelt and a well tipped whiteboard 73X ... again I don't think ive ever hit a driver that I felt this good with... I will leave you with pics of my setup in the new to me Vega Aqua bag....
