Liked the article but thought this part was a little concerning.

He saw two shrinks but came away unimpressed. "They're all Captain Obvious," he says. "They tell you stuff you already know and then charge you $500. I'm better off figuring it out on my own."

 

Hey, everyone goes about things their own ways, and I'm not saying I know what's best, especially for someone so skilled, but that sounds to me like someone who's running away from facing a real issue. Working out kinks on the range is the easy part.

Proper golf etiquette would have been for Stevie to go through Adam Scott, Stevie got that way by caddying for at least 2 of the most arrogant people golf has ever seen (Woods and Norman). I guess it's not hard for that to rub off, but my best guess is that is the reason why those pairings worked so well. Which is baffling to me the Adam Scott pairing, because all accounts have him as a nice guy.

 

On a side note, I am a Kevin Na fan, great article.

I enjoyed reading this. Thank you for sharing. I understand how many will read into the Tiger comments, but I actually think stories like these make Tiger endearing. I stood at the range at Oak Hill and listened to very similar conversations between Thorbjorn and Rory. They are humans and have human interactions. I hope Na wins a lot of tournaments in the next few years.

 

P.S. I'm a "shrink" and found his description of psychologists to be entertaining.

I don't know about that. Steve's solid. In the local parlance, "he looks like a sh!t brickhouse"
