brianhorne8
Was lucky enough to play today. Got out at Fox Hollow and played the longest, slowest round I've ever experienced. 5-ish hours to play Links to Canyon. Great nines, but I was told the pace is like that relatively often. I doubt I'll be back, which is a shame because it's a good course.

I liked the guys I was playing with though, so that helped...but the five foursomes of old dudes, self-dubbed the "Golf Buddies Foursomes 1-5" need to learn what pace of play is. thaar
I had a horrible experience there about 5-6 weeks ago. We were supposed to play 27, and I bailed after 9 holes since that took nearly 3 hours. I waited for quite some time on nearly every shot. The group in front of us were a bunch of really old guys and wouldn't pick up the pace even after being talked to by the marshal a couple times. I was pretty upset that the marshal didn't take more action, but so be it. It was really disappointing too because I was playing fairly well that day. I booked a time and will keep my fingers crossed. If not then just practice at the indoor facility for me.

jacobEDGE
I booked a noon tee time Saturday at Ute Creek. Never played it before, but it was only $25 with a cart. Should be easy enough to get 18 in before dark, assuming the snow's gone by then. Also, not who you asked, but I practice indoors at D'Lance golf. Joelness
Where do you practice indoors? Colorado National has a great indoor setup. It was built for CU. The front half is a big chipping and putting area (my guess is 1000 sq ft). The back of the building has 5 bays that open to the range with overhead heaters so you can hit outside and actually see the ball fly. Speaking of, if anyone wants to come up and give it a try I can take you out as a guest that "might be interested in a membership." ;) I booked a noon tee time Saturday at Ute Creek. Also, not who you asked, but I practice indoors at D'Lance golf. Ute creek is a good track. It's a links layout with some well designed holes. It also has three par 5's and three par 3's on the back. Keep your wits about you on 16 and 18, they're some tough finishers. One more thing, I played a noon tee time last weekend and the last four holes were pretty cold so have your gear. Pretty good indoor setup? It's pretty small. 4 hitting bays, just hitting into nets. 3 of them have a GolfAcheiver laser system set up, which gives okay information about club head speed, ball speed, swing path, launch angle, and carry distance. The spin isn't accurate at all. But I like it because I have 24/7 access to it. I'm a night owl that's pretty anti-social, and I haven't run into a single person past 7pm before. Joelness
Wow, that is really awesome. I wish we had something like that down south. It was the one selling point of the membership that threw it over the top for me. I actually live in uptown on 17th and other members are surprised I commute up there. They forget that any decent golf course in Denver to sign up with is $10k down an $800+ per month. No thanks (like anyone in the middle class could afford that anyway)

thaar
Family Sports is ok. Great short game area, and it's nice that they have heated bays for colder days. The one bad thing is their range balls are awful. But all in all, you can't beat the price if you buy a range card. I used to live near there so I used to go pretty regularly. Joelness - I work in the TIAA building and am about to head out to ACE for happy hour, which I imagine is around where you live. Cheers! jacobEDGE
TopGolf is a fun time, not for serious practicing or anything though. And you can't hit driver either. I was in the leagues there in the fall, and it was definitely cheaper than normal. $20 each night, and you pretty much got to play from 7PM until close. It took a good 2 hours to finish your match, but once you're done, you got to keep playing. Much much better than their normal $45/hour pricing. thaar
I gotta agree on that one. I love Top Golf, but it's not the right setting for practice. Plus I feel weird bringing my clubs there lol.
