Ping G...

Longest? Nope... But it's the only fairway that takes the humiliating roller after waiting for someone to clear the green cuz your "gonna go for it in two" out of play.

I think yards gained by any other I've hit this season are not yards that will be there everytime like the g.

Got the Reax 65 regular flex in my M2, shortened 1/2 an inch.

Good call as shortening the club. I won't play a fairway wood over 43 inches and I think the M2 is 43.25" stock.

I found the M2 3HL ridiculous long and didn't launch incredibly high. A few just kept going. It was easy to launch but I think paired with lower launch shaft would be a great club.

Ping G standard 14.5 degree. Launches easy and easy to hit center of the face. Still hitting off mats in NE Ohio, but the club performs great off the super tight lie of the mat. The new carpenter steel face feels hotter as well. The tour 80 shaft in this is a great shaft for a fairway with a small uncharge.

M2 is nice. For myself the feel was superb on the F6. Better then the LTD.

For me it went

F6

M2

LTD

Ping G/XR

The F6 had best numbers felt great and was adjustable. The M2 was a close second but the feel on the F6 was amazing

Agreed, the F6 did feel great and better than the LTD. For some reason I think the LTD would be better off a tee and the F6 more balanced. The M2 also felt better than I thought.

those buying the M2 fairway what shaft u going with?

Don't think anyone has really answered this for you. There are 30 no upcharge shafts available with the M2 through custom order - check their website. I've always preferred an 80g range low torque, mid launch, mid bend point shaft in 3 wood. If you have a shaft that you like, just find something that has similar bend point, torque, and weight and you'll be good to go.

Not a lot of 80+ gram shafts available, but way better than Callaway which I don't think has any. I ordered the M2 16.5 3HL with 80M4. I like 80+ gram in my fairway woods and hoping between the extra loft and the low launch shaft it will play more of a mid launch club. I think the 15 degree with black tie might launch a little lower than I want and also be too long. The 3HL was very long as it was with the stock shaft.

Hit them side by side again. No comparison for ease of shots off the deck... Ping g hands down. Just so easy to hit good shots. Not the longest, but by far the easiest and most point and shoot.

Felt the m2 was long, but no easier off the deck than any other recent offering of theirs. Same went for the other offerings. Other than the ping the ltd was the easiest to hit off the deck consistently.

This was for someone who typically has difficulty off the deck.

LTD Hands down for me. Put an Oban Gold 75 05 in it. If I really go after it, I snap it. If I force myself to just swing easy, that thing is a rocket launcher. Probably the best, easiest to launch, straightest fairway I have ever hit. Feel's amazing and while it may not be as long as my XR Pro from last year, It is consistent distance which is by far and away the most important factor for me. 270 on the button every time. With the XR Pro, sometimes it was 280, sometimes 290, sometimes 260. When you attack a par 5 in 2, nice to know exactly what you are getting off the deck, if you make a consistent swing.

I don't get why the M2 is being marketed by TM as their longest fairway? If it's more forgiving than M1, that means M1 should be lower spinning and therefore longer, unless you have slow swing speed or don't produce much spin naturally

That's not a bad assumption, but it's an assumption nonetheless

Look at Rick Sheils YouTube videos. He doesn't have one that compares the two but if you watch the M1 FW video then the M2 video, you'll notice he gets more distance with the M2...and if memory serves correct, it's not even close

Alert High Swing Speed Players of Fairways: You must fight the distance crave!!!

It is fun to go 280 with my 3 wood, but rarely practical. 260 to a target, however, will yield you scores.

I get maxing out the distance if you can hit it consistently, but for most, this part of the bag is the toughest to get right.

I get maxing out the distance if you need extra yards, but if you are high swing speed... that shouldn't be an issue!

So... for the vast majority of the high swing speed players, take the ping g and anything else from this season to a grass range and hit them. If you can hit the M2 (or whatever) well and want the yardage, take it... but off grass I was mesmerized by how much easier the G was compared to the M2 and other offerings this year.

+15 yards in the trees isn't helping me vs -15 on target. I drive it about 300... how often do I need to go for the green from further than 260? Answer... never... if I'm that far my score almost always benefits from a layup. Even more important, whats that +15 if I roll every 10th one topped down the fairway? Cuz with the M2 that was my miss... thin or topped. The G felt borderline impossible to top, and when it was thin it just produced a low spinning and low launch bullet that still got out there about 250... That shot still helps me.

This is why I don't even carry a fairway wood lol. I can hit my 17* hybrid 260-270, and the shorter shaft is much more consistent

That's because he was playing a fade back when he did the M1 video. Made his spin go from 3000 avg with M2 (drawing), to over 4000 avg with M1 with a big fade

They're all pretty good. Settled on the XR16 after trying it along with the M2, F6, GBB, and G series, but the decision really all came down to feel (and looks - I think the M is hideous). Numbers were pretty similar across the board with the exception of the G which was pretty consistently 10-12 yards shorter. Of course, I only hit my 3-wood 230-240, so YMMV if you're the typical WRXer who pulls out a 5 iron from that distance...

Hey guys-

I have been looking to move from my CB Pro fairway for a while now. The CB Pro is a great club - I was looking for something with a shallower profile.

Over the last few weeks I tried the M2, the XR 16 Pro, and a few others.

I landed on the King LTD Fairway. I like the feel and it gave me the best numbers. Thankfully those numbers seem to have translated well at yesterday's range session.

So my vote would go to the King LTD.

Does anyone else have some thoughts on, I don't know, 'surprise' fairway contenders?

I liked the numbers on the LTD but something felt better and more confidence inspiring with the Ping G. The numbers for launch, spin and carry were very close in my situation so I'm going with the G.

Another 2 that I really liked and you may want to try are the Tour Edge EX9 and EX9 Pro. Both are pretty sweet.

All the best. Hit em straight

To me the f6 has a deeper face and is very easy off the tee but it was also easy off the deck. I did not like the ltd but I know a lot of people who prefer the ltd. I got the hzrdus black shaft and love it in both my 3 and 5 woods.

I also ordered these but haven't hit. Planned on throwing my fubuki s in but curious what driver and shaft ur using. (on mobile)

Typical BS response I have come to expect from you

He hit a couple of fades with the M2 as well

To any extent, I revisited the videos & I did notice he's using two different trackmans so not apples to apples

I just watched a few more M1 FW reviews & it seems M1 FW spins more than the M2

Also he's not using "trackmans". He's using GC2 in both, one is hooked up to simulator software one isn't. Doesn't change the numbers

That's good then, if it's the same software then that answers it - M2 is longer due to less spin

The whole bit on draws & fades would be valid but there's no mention, nor have I seen in any of his other vids, that he's intentionally trying to shape shots when he's doing the demo videos...so I call BS

Similar to your other rant on all Titleist equipment being overpriced & underperforming...your opinion, which you're entitled to, is just naive
