3 wheel vs 4 wheel push cart

Does anybody have experience to any advantages one would have other the other ? I'm torn between the Clicgear 3.5+ or the 4 wheel 8.0.

No experience with the 4 wheeler, but one of the reasons I wouldn't go with this style is that it would make me feel like I'm pushing a baby stroller... it does look a bit smaller and compact in comparison to my clicgear 3.0 which I have and does a very good job (but it takes up decent amount of space folded and can feel like a "project" to fold/un-fold at times).

I was in a similar situation and settled for the 3.5, because the 8.0 is quite a lot heavier and also larger when folded. The 3.5 design ain't broke, so I don't think the 8.0 is fixing anything.

I like 4 wheel carts because they fold up smaller. My Fusion can get 2 Micro Carts and four bags in the trunk. Could not do that with Clic Gear.

Is that the Sun Mountain MC3 cart you have? Is there any difficulty with the cart going through thick rough and do the clips damage your golf bag?

I was sitting on the fence between the 3.5+ or Model 8 too. In the end, I went with the 3.5+.

 

I've been pushing a SM Speedcart for years, just time for a refresh. I though 4 wheels would be a nice change, but when they had the year end sales, there weren't any available for sale at our local or online (Canadian retailers), so I ordered the 3.5+ with no hesitation. I use a cart bag so either model would have been fine, there's some compatibility issues with the Model 8 and some stand bags. Reviews I've read had the Model 8 tested as being more stable, but the 3.5+ isn't exactly a slouch there either.

 

Both have good brakes, identical consoles (can't remember if the 8 had the mesh net or not), lots of accessories available and solid build quality. Cleaning one less wheel/axle, proven design, a little less overall weight are pluses for the 3 wheeler. But I don't think you can go wrong either way

Jersey Golfer mine is MC3 and I have had mine for 5 years. Pushes fine for me. Ive had the same bag for the 5 years and its still in fine shape.

I am currently debating between the Clicgear 3.5 or 8.0. I like the 8.0's ease of setup and teardown, but I think the 3.5 might be easier to handle on the course.

I ended up with a Bag Boy Quad and I love it. Two steps to fold and unfold and a very small footprint when folded. I have room for my clubs,cart and a 12 sub in the trunk of my Chrysler 200. Very stable on side hills also.

Clicgear 8.0 with a 2016 Ping Pioneer bag. Cart folds and unfolds easily, and bag fits perfectly. If you are going to use a stand bag - check the fit on whatever cart you buy. The stand bags tend to turn because the bag legs and the attached plastic leg mounts prevent the bags from sitting properly on the upper cradle. That was my experience with a Ping Hoofer on the 8.0

The 8.0 is reputed to be easier to roll through the rough because the weight is spread over more wheels so the cart doesn't sink as far into the grass. Regardless of this, I love my 3.5!

I have the regular quad and the 3.5. I experienced the same issue. I expanded the wheels out with an allen wrench and now it is perfect.

 

I assume the XL quad would have wheels that extend as well.
