Return of the King... Cobra Luvin.

This morning my Cobra Lovin is back in full bloom... I've purchased a Cobra LTD driver with stiff Chrome (no upchage) shaft. The feel of this driver is simply superb. I played a quick 7 holes this afternoon and i hit 2 of the longest drives I've hit since I've returned to the game after injury. One thing I noticed is set at 10.5 it looked closed at address and I felt I had to really work to keep the face square at impact. On my return home I dropped it to 9.5 and it seems to sit much better. I've got a 30 day performance guarantee on the club so I may end up swapping it gor the LTD Pro as the feel is the best I've had from a driver since the adjustable era started.

I also ordered a set of Amp Cell Pro irons 4-pw which will be available to collect tomorrow. They are on sale at £349 brand new. I had a set 2 years ago before having 12 months out requiring back surgery. I love the looks of the irons and remember them feeling great... but I noticed they had the fly z pro irons on sale as well for £449. I know the newer version has the tungsten toe weight which moves the sweetspot away from the heel a little more towards the centre of the face... for those who have hit both are the Fly Z pro worth the £100 extra or would you stick with the Amp Cell Pro's?

Also on sale are the Ricky Fowler 'Go Time' 55 Tour Trusty wedges with tour issue s400 shaft. I picked one up last weekend and this week it has transformed my somewhat rusty short game. I love the way the leading edge nips through the turf.

I've drank the Cobra Kool Aid and I'm a happy man.

Is this the only driver you demo'd?

No, I owned a M1 briefly when they first came out. I've also recently demo'd the Mizuno JPX, TM M2, Nike Vapor Fly Pro, Ping G LS Tec and Cobra F6+. Today was the first time I managed to try the King LTD and the feel with the Chrome shaft was superb. 3 swings in and I knew it would be leaving with me. It was early morning and my back was a bit stiff. Before my injury I swung around 108 mph. Now loose I only get to 103mph. This morning I was swinging in around 98-100 mph. Im a very low spinner of the ball. My launch was 14-15, spin 1700-1900, carry was 248-259 yards. I'm happy with those numbers now. I got similar numbers out of some of the other drivers but the feel of the Cobra just blew them out of the water. On the course I hit a couple right out of the screws and they were up near the 290 yard total mark, which in 3*c is a big effort for me and my back.
