alright I recently did a swing evaluation at golftec and one of the things i learned was that part of my problem is that my irons are not a stiff enough flex for my swing speed. So i've been debating on getting new irons. The main reason the flex of my irons was brought up was because my irons seem to get a signifcant amount of height to them and i noticed that i should be getting some more distance out of them. Also another problem is that my drives are ballooning on me but here and there i'll get a nice straight drive or a drive with a slight fade that still sits on the fairway one thing i've attributed this to is that my current driver. a 910 D3 stiff flex 8.5* has one of the smaller sweet spots available. i was just looking at an opinion at which clubs most of you would replace first. Both my irons and driver are workable clubs for me but i'm just trying to see what the consensus here says on what they would take as more of a priority. also what irons or drivers and flex would you guys recommend. I can't supply a lot of info on my swing off the top of my head other than my swing speed is a 107 avg and my drives seem to be around 285/290..

and if i've posted this type of question in the wrong place feel free to tell me and i'll gladly delete and repost. i just thought this question might fall in the right category here.

Did the swing evaluation not give you some feedback on what would be suitable?

What shafts are in your clubs now?

I would recommend a fitting session, you don't have to buy but it will give you some ideas of what will suit your swing.

driver is diaman 'ahina 72 low-mid stiff and irons are nike slingshot uniflex

Swing eval leads to club sale? Out of a swing eval I would expect a lot more info on where in my mechanics I need to improve.

Better you get with a good instructor and improve your swing and then consider new clubs.

At least go to a knowledgeable instructor and get a second opinion. Lots of reasons why you can be hitting the ball high besides shaft. Ditto ballooning drives.

And you "think" you should be getting more distance - spoken like a golfer. LOL.

hey what golfer doesn't want more distance? lol.. 280-290 drives are when everything clicks on those few holes during the round.. avg drive would be between 250-260... as far as the swing eval it was very informative on the mechanical aspect and opened my eyes to things i never knew before it's amazing what happens when you finally see your swing on video.. The club discussion was more of a brief discussion at the start of the session and i'm just trying to take that small part of info and find more information and figured i would see if i could pick the brains of those here at golfwrx..
