Thought it would be interesting to see everyones group stage picks. I've outlined all the groups and made my choice in bold.

Notes: Dubuisson & Donaldson come in with poor form and I think Spieth has the mental edge to battle through if he's struggling as well as the local course knowledge from his college days.

Notes: I like Day as well in this group but just get a good feeling about Casey.

 

Group 3:

Notes: Rory has the most matchplay experience and makes enough birdies to win holes.

Notes: I liked what I saw from JB at the Presidents Cup and Bubba is coming off a form of injury.

Like the newer format

I thought it made for some really compelling play last year - particularly on the Friday when all of the group winners were decided. Came straight home from work to watch all the matches play out, and am planning to do the same this year.

I like the new format with the round robin within the groups. Also kinda cool the way they mixed up the "B", "C", and "D" players. (Wonder how Phil likes being a "B" player?) Not cool was a 2 hour drawn out program to pick the groups. That was hard to watch, I lasted about 3 groups.

4: Grillo - Channels his inner Cabrera, winning out of nowhere

5: Fowler - An gets annoyed being called James all week, Dufner still too skinny, Piercy peaked already

6: Scott - Classy Scott trounces Group Beige

7: Lahiri - Not a hard name to pronounce really, but GC/NBC will do it anyways

8: Aphibarnrat - See 7, but worse. Plus he has that who gives a fook way about him

9: Reed - GC/NBC will be in tears when Phil's "best ball striking ever" isn't enough

10: Koepka - He finally awakens!

11: Lingmerth - Solid pro wins solid pro group.

12: Bello - anti jinx Hideki choice, Go Hideki!!!

13: No One - I'm not sure how the tiebreaker works, but don't like anyone in this group

14: Shane-o - Just so I can do an annoying Oirish accent a few days longer... ah me potatoes

15: Schwartzel - gaining momentum in a 'comeback' year?

16: Oosthuizen - surely the only golfer in the group can beat a darts player, F1 driver, and cricketer
