A few finds from the past few weeks.

Honma Tour Model PP 717 2-SW (missing 3 iron). Condition is average but I can’t leave these behind at 2 dollars AUD a club

Womens 5-PW cobra S2 forged irons

Womens 5-PW TaylorMade R9 irons

A leather Maxfli revolution staff bag in great condition for 15 AUD

Retro Cobra bag with an 80s public transport seat material pattern 5 AUD

and some odd clubs 2 dollars a piece. My fav being the TPM 18. Feels great.

Any advice on cleaning the honma irons up would be appreciated. Would love to get them back looking a little better.

Today we made a trip to our old home town, about 30 minutes north, to a couple of thrift stores we used to frequent. It was worth the trip!

Got an awesome Brunswick leather (?) cart bag, very classic look.

Found a set of Ping Eye irons, 3-9, PW, SW, white dot, std length, original grips.

Found a nice Wilson putter and a Zebra putter, along with a Ram sand wedge.

Also got a graphite shaft Big Bertha driver, and a Spalding 2 & 3 wood for my vintage set.

And, a hardcover edition of Arnold Palmer's "My game and your's" which I read quite frequently. It was a good day.

(Pics: last pic is the Ping Eye next to the Wilson K-28 irons I currently play. It's my understanding that the Ping Eye irons were introduced in 1978, the year I graduated highschool. That would make them roughly 47 years old. I justified buying them thinking of selling them, but now I'm not so sure.)

Sorry, I don't know the stock lofts. They are probably similar to their Wilson Staff cousins.

On the spec sheets I have seen, Wilson Dual Wedges came in at 53 degrees.

Not sure if they're just a local thing in my state or not.

Winmark is the franchisor of Play It Again, Music Go Round, Once Upon A Child and a few other 2nd hand retail brands that escape me at the moment. Winmark is based in Minnesota, but there are franchise stores nationwide.

We were BIG fans of Once Upon A Child back in the day. Monthly pilgrimage for my wife when the kids were young and growing like weeds.

Prices are garbage in Maine , lots if not all "used stuff stores" are in Maine, tourist state vibes. I do use them to sell stuff I find thats modern for a small profit. lol

File under "The one that got away".. A few years ago, I had some time to kill before a lesson at the local muni, so I stopped into a "Play It Again Sports" store. They had a very clean Ping Anser Ti that they were selling for the price of an average bronze Anser (~$40). I don't think they knew what they had. Stupidly, I decided to get to my lesson and come back on the way home. I came back only about an hour or so later, but it was gone. Lesson learned. 😞

I just got a SC bullseye at PIA for $15. I think the grip was worth more than the putter after I pulled it with the tool. Sold the grip for like $45 and the putter for about $40

They're definitely worth popping into from time to time I actually appreciated their prices more than Goodwill at this point.

Good score today. Let me know if you need any of these, most likely keeping the Hogan 7 as its from the 80s and will blend in with my missing 7 from my 88 redlines

Nice grips, barely played. I own the Zing versions of the 1 and 5. I'd love to trade one or both for a 7, if you got one.

4,5,6,7.  I'm pretty sure the 7 will match my '88 lofts.

Can’t remember exactly but there was talk of a specific Apex with an especially small button spot and I thought it was the PC’s. Recalling it is harder to pure than most and completely explodes when done correctly. Can have a 30 yard range with them. I like the look combining the 73’s with the 80’s.

I can finally contribute to this thread, and I'm pumped. Dropped some stuff off at Goodwill, and to my wife's dismay, actually found things.

Maxfli Australian Blades 2-PW, regular flex shafts.

Hogan Medallion 3-Eq, Legend 3 shafts.

$12 for each set.

Both are regrip and go, but I might want to do something cool with the Aussie Blades. Thinking of an oil can or raw finish or something. The Hogans will get new classic-style grips and a cleanup and that's it.

Dude, what a steal! Those Hogans are stunning.
