Joe!

Wrong section of this Forum.

Would love to do the same solicitation with a number of my  excess stuff, but that's against the rules.

Uhhh, I was joking, and those definitely aren't my irons. But I'd be happy to drive back to Goodwill and grab them for you if you'd like. $59.99 seems like a steal

Goodwill Goodwillin'.

I wouldn't charge someone $5.99 for that set. 😉

Ironically I just salvaged this exact same set out of a dumpster (haven't checked which shafts yet though).

Will be donating the set  to Salvation Army with a bunch of other golf stuff next load.

Play it Again doesn't even want them 😢

Donate??? We accumulate here, lol.

I look for sets like these for shaft swapping. $60 is a bit steep but not outrageous if flex is what I want.

I’ve only recently found out how common .370 parallel tip DG’s were in this era. Useless without modifications in most of our old sets. I have a set I’m gonna swap into my modern SGI irons.  Gonna see what a DG will do compared to an TT Elevate 95. Zero issues with height on them as they sit. In my mind I love the idea of a 125 gram shaft. Odd combo for SGI but we will find out. If they even make .370 parallel tip DG’s anymore I couldn’t buy 2 new shafts for $60.

Speaking of leaving things behind, who would pay 8.49$ (granted, Canadian dollars) a club for these? Some of the stores are getting a little greedy.

I don’t stop at GW’s much cuz pickings just aren’t as good as other faith based thrift’s in my area. Yeah $5-7 per club is common. I never see sets like these either or I would stop in more often. Expensive but I’d personally have a hard time leaving these behind. One of the two Wilson STAFF generations between 1972 and 1976. On my phone they look nice. Not the craziest about that round window but isn’t it an adjustable toe weight? Can never go wrong with a STAFF iron.

I do have good luck at GW auctions but I have a big fulfillment center near me so I can pick it up and not mess with shipping costs if I win an auction. Have got some gems this way. Some dirt cheap only bidder and some last second snipes.

They weren't as nice in person unfortunately! Shiny so tough to see just how much chrome was missing in the photos. When even the 2i has a work leading edge you know they've seen a lot of action. Still, someone else will like them - I left them organized as a set for the next picker...

Some of the local independant thrifts price full sets cheaper than that, for example I got my 3-Pw Royal Staffs, effectively Wilson staff equivalents, for a whopping 25$ at a non chain store.

I took a number of cllubs to my favorite thrift store- sets, wedges & putters (plus round bins I made to put them in), I almost included a set of that same Wilson clubs above. You can adjust the weights in the toe....interesting. I'll probably put them up in the Z-Zomvie sale site eventually

Found some more gems today, and one I’d like a little more info on. Got a full set (3-SW + gap) of Tommy armour 855s with graphite shafts. And this cracker Ray cook blue goose with a graphite shaft. 50AUD (so about 6.50 USD in this current economic environment)IMG_1425.jpeg.4059fa23068dc012f5b99d4a73b64680.jpegIMG_1425.jpeg.4059fa23068dc012f5b99d4a73b64680.jpegIMG_1424.jpeg.e517756c373e71739c47dae9a58c5473.jpegIMG_1423.jpeg.08c765fff3c4fd7d14a8f69ffd36950c.jpegIMG_1422.jpeg.d0bbda0126d95027bad9a7625b36f26c.jpeg. Anyone got any info on it? It feels great but can’t find much about it. Cheers

Oh yeah, while im here I’ll post a few other finds I’ve made recently. A precept Kirk Currie bullseye flange style KC03B and a TPM 5 that was pure rust. Both were 2 dollars AUD. I loved the Wilson Kirk Currie putters he did, so was happy to spot this, and the first TPM I’ve seen in the wild, despite how common they are in the States, I haven’t seen any here. The putter collection from thrift is really startling to come along. Included is a little cricket bat I’m going to refinish as a project of mine. IMG_1430.jpeg.a5e8ccb71bcef5d0a4746336baf915a9.jpegIMG_1431.jpeg.a5339755616f2a17b763ca7743acbda2.jpegIMG_1432.jpeg.a27b0cf74b090d4737f3456de9fcadce.jpegIMG_1433.jpeg.d658165a001d76c1bd22e66fec563cd0.jpegIMG_1434.jpeg.d1fb76a0bc0d7d7374b70f1e4a5602f4.jpegIMG_1435.jpeg.dd2403b39eccedd5f901cb77e8bd2010.jpegIMG_1436.jpeg.79a675c2a2135656368e45cc3c817205.jpegIMG_1437.jpeg.8c54d7972b30dea901ade1b5ade1fbc4.jpegIMG_1430.jpeg.a5e8ccb71bcef5d0a4746336baf915a9.jpeg

You got some good ones there!

Going back to previous post of that Blue Goose. I believe that was one of the earlier milled putters. You hear lots of great things about that Blue Goose. I should know more about Ray Cook than I do. Think he played a role in modern putter lore and also just made great putters. Didn’t Scotty design or make that Goose before he became Scotty?? Pretty sure Ray Cook was his start. Could be the bright sunshine reflecting but I thought the Blue Goose was actually a dark blue in color?

Any Bullseye is good. Great way to check your stroke honesty. Think they are actual brass.

-edit sorry just realized that’s not a Bullseye. Sure looks like one. He had so many different models I never question it if it’s not the classic looking Bullseye. Bet it’s still brass.

Check out the torching and oil quenching people do on those Spalding TPM’s. It takes a putter looking like yours to a piece of art! I have your same putter I want to do this to.

Finally I love the cricket bat. Not a familiar game at all here in the states but I gotta get one someday. Just a cool looking man decoration to me.

What is soo problematic about 50+year old clubs showing a wee bit of age. These are good clubs...screw that circular thingie off & you can place different weights (or lead powder) to fit your swing....it'd be interesting to play around with.

And I gotta mention that these GW, as well as other thrift stores, still have to pay for electricty, water, AC/heating & those utility costs are still on the rise.

Showing a little age and all the faces are down to nickel isn't the same - I would have considered the price if they were at a thrift store that was a charity instead of a for-profit that has no trouble covering their bills 😉

I did however grab a couple drivers at $2.99 a piece. An old TisiTec and a SQ Sumo. The Sumo isn't too bad - got a ByYou stiff shaft and 8.5*

I went into this goodwill hoping to find persimmons LOL , I can't complain and have 2 lefty friends.

Holy crap nice haul! Lefty score for sure. The Ping 400 is supposed to still be an excellent driver and still go for good money even though it’s what 10 years old. I’m sure a 425 3 wood is still big bucks. Most adjustable fairways are. M4 and Rogue either one would have been good for $21! You should flip the PING’s on ur local FB and make golf money for month or so.

Buddy had these and they were an acquired taste at best. I really wanted to like them cuz I actually liked the way they looked but Eye2s were so superior in performance. That’s obviously what they were shooting for, everybody was. Trying not to be too snobbish but another buddy had Cleveland VAS irons and honestly it was an easy choice if you actually hit them side by side. Those monstrosities worked in comparison.

I liked the 2002 Big Bertha irons, at least the long irons. I hit one of my best shots ever w that 4 iron, which I still have. I've never tried the 94 or 96 versions I don't think but I will hit a few w these. They look funky at address, at least the short iron do.
