... Back to Black and White, here I am in an autographed picture with Gary Maddox before a Charity Golf event in Philly when I was at Wizzard 100 (WZZD) holding my trusty Niblick? Or was it a Mashie? I believe I shot a ... 78? or 79? with a borrowed persimmon woods, some Wilson MB's and balata balls. Oh Wait!!! I remember now, I didn't play golf I just accompanied Gary going from group to group as he played one hole with them while I gave out radio swag. But it solidified my opinion that golf was played by old fat guys (every single player was white of course) in ugly clothes chasing balls in the woods or dropping another ball by the water. What a stupid game! I stuck to basketball and scored 87 points against another radio station but I digress. 

... Years later lamenting my choices, Philmont Country Club was probably a very nice private course that I would really enjoy playing.  I will save my biggest regret of not playing a golf course for another Clubhouse Grill day.

Not talking about the round ball game, I agree they are overpaid actors. I am on about the real game rugby league, where they make good physical contact, have a good punch up mid field, without any protection. Have to admit though, because of the workshop health and safety people the game had been made more safe, no longer do real men play, the NFL players would fit in nicely.

Salmon spiced up with some special French herbs and pepper and oven roasted.

Basmati rice with shallots and a touch of soy sauce.

Garlic and butter green beens.

White Bordeaux.

Only ate half of the fish and we’ll save it for hors d’oeuvres with champagne for “tub talk” tomorrow. That’s where the wife takes a bubble bath and I sit and watch and we talk.

Have to keep up the presentation for our fine dining expert, @touch.

I got on the Ovation train back in the mid 70's. The 12 string I had was damn cool.

Mr. Soloman yours, scotee's, and DMM's food presentations are always on point.

Here we see a perfectly cooked oven roasted piece of nice salmon. Some lovely fluffy Basmati rice (my favorite after Jasmine, I eat a ton of rice) with a kiss of shallots, and cooked just beyond crisp garlic green beans.  A very nice looking and I am sure delicious tasting entree.  Open a second bottle of the French white toast yours and your wives talents in the kitchen.  

 

Raspberry sorbet for desert perhaps?

I can remember back in the day when you could order a Big Block Chevroler 396 or 427 high performance engine direct from your local dealer. Those engines had a decal on the valve cover North Tonawanda the #1 Team Man those were the days.

Also there was a great race car driver and overall great guy from there named Jim Hurtibese.  He ran anything with wheels on it.

We used to have a member over in the classics forum that not only loved persimmon clubs but collected guitars as well. He had some beautiful ones. I can play a little on one if someone shows me how. But I do love to look at them and admire the craftsmanship. If I hit a huge lottery I would more than likely have a wall full along with my persimmon stuff. I also love old school Hammond organs. Love to look at the finishes and craftsmanship on those too and love to hear someone that knows what they are doing play one.
